(Famous last words) I don't think Leeds are at the same level they were last season. They've had a good start but they've beaten (and I know we are currently) mostly teams in or likely to finish in the bottom third of the table. They have lost twice at home to sides you'd expect to finish in the top half (Boro and Burnley) and drew at West Brom.

Playing as we are I can’t see us causing any problems. Just want a much better performance.

We do cause problems though? We are just not putting chances away.

Well definately concede. We need to score 3 in every game to stand any chance of winning. It is typical of city to go here Saturday and win after that dross against Swansea but I’m still thinking a comfortable home win I’m afraid.

In the games against Norwich, Swansea, Stoke & Bristol City , I can't remember us creating many chances.

Was in Bristol the weekend after the game and was talking to a couple of their supporters and they said they thought we deserved to win.
Not sure I agree with that to be honest.

As a few others have said, I honestly wouldn't be averse to going back to the wingbacks.

I think with Torp and Rudoni the complete lack of forward creativity we had the last time we tried wingbacks might not be as bad.

And the main thing is we need to stop conceding these stupid goals and we haven't looked comfortable in a back 4 all season. Even last season we didn't look great defensively.

Binks, JDS and even MVE were brought in to play in a back 3 with wingbacks. As someone mentioned above, we could even try 3-4-3 so we've got the same forward line.

Now if we line up in a back 3 and it looks every bit as disjointed and shit as it did the start of last season I'll eat my words.

Which is all well and good but the reality is that will quickly become 5-4-1 for most of the game.

What problem is 3 at the back solving? We were leaking goals early last season using it and lost 4 games on the spin before it was ditched.

I'm not sure where people like Sakamoto or EMC would fit. Would we play two up top or one?

Depends on the match, you could go 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Even 5-4-1

Looks like a home win. But the pressure is on for us to perform. Got to pick his best players which should include Sheaf.
Can see a confidence boosting win but can also see a heavy defeat if we play anything like our last few chaotic performances.
The coaching staff have a whole week to prove themselves as much as the players.

Removing the reliance on an out and out DM and letting us get Dasilva and MvE further up the pitch.

It doesn't reduce reliance on it at all?

It depends really.
You could have one of the CB's, probably Binks or Lati if he's playing push up and sit just in front of the other 2 CB's to allow Eccles or Sheaf to move up a bit or you could even have one of Sheaf or Eccles stay back and almost have two DM's.

This of course depends on how far we're pushing the wing backs up, but if we have a 3-4-3 with Saka and Wright we don't necessarily need them to push up.

It does because the four back when attacking become the back three plus a CM rather than the back two plus two CMs, Lats can step into midfield if needed.

at least for the start, if Sheaf and Saka arent 100% then drop them out earlier for Asante/Torp but we just cant afford to start poorly in this one

5-2-3 Formation - Footballizer

The 5-2-3 formation, also known as the
www.footballizer.com

Strongly think this formation would suit the brief for the weekend. And going forward.

5 at the back is a non-starter

We should set up out of possession as we did vs. Spurs, which was basically a half court press and play on the counter. Players executed it very well as it is a clear instruction to help the fullbacks in a game we weren’t expected to have majority of possession

It’s clear that we’re so much breaking forward at speed and this allows us to get men behind the ball defensively

I never have us down to lose but it's going to be a 3-1 Leeds. It doesn't matter which team we put out.

Personally always get a wave of optimism before the game, especially as I do genuinely think we have a very good group of players. But that's abandoned me right now, we look complete shite and I assume we'll lose.
Let's go with 2-0 Leeds.

Can’t remember the last time I was looking forward to a fixture less. Feels like thrashing on the cards or us desperately having to cling on for a point.
