Let him make these brave decisions elsewhere. Away from CCFC.

Fans/bookies will consider pretty much any former player who’s still in management - there’s no other reason why he should be in the running, it’s just nostalgic narrative-building.

I don’t have any Spanish or Portuguese friends so I don’t know if it was a night for the history books there

Personally I would rank an England Nations League title somewhere below a decent goalless draw for CCFC.

In international terms its 1 below the European championship .

It also keeps us playing against top opposition instead of being relegated and playing second rate teams like we are now

I don't think it's particularly fair to pick out one game to judge a manager by.

Mark Robins lost 6-2 at home to Yeovil after all!

They said yesterday Kane was carrying a knock and unlikely to start and that's why he came out about all of the other players that left yhe squad and he felt some could've been there like him.

I get that they’ve tried to add some stakes to the tournament but I just can’t bring myself to care.

Can you imagine the country coming to a standstill for the Nations League final? Open top bus parades if we won?

Well considering we've won nothing for 58 years I'd imagine the country would be pretty excited about winning the nations league yes

No one is saying that.

It’s definitely better playing the top teams than minnows that treat every game like their World Cup final.

Not sure why you're being cranky, it's just a discussion!

You can't make the 3-0 Greece point then get tetchy when the same point is used against another manager!

He's not my first choice by any means but I just think he's got a very good reputation and we shouldn't be dismissing him out of hand.

Well the Greece point is a pretty fair point we lost 3-0 at home to a team ranked 42 in the world in tournament football

It's not the same as against a manager that won promotion from league but lost 1 of those 46 games 6-2

I know a few Spaniards and I definitely get the impression that they view it as a proper trophy which then of course led on to the Euros win. I don't think it will ever be as popular as the other two under the current format though.

I also know a few Greeks who absolutely loved beating us so... yes, I'm firmly in the glorified friendly camp.

OK well Robins just lost with a team tipped for the top 6 at home to a newly promoted side.

It's daft to pick out one game to judge a manager on.

England had 20,000 fans in Portugal for a 5,000 allocation , they clearly were quite excited

For reference there were 35,000 for the euro final

Can I ask what warrants people wanting Carsley appointed? I can’t get past this, it’s really got on my nerves.

We'll regarded head coach, puts in the effort coaching players on the training ground. good with youngsters.

Not my first choice but seeing as we want a head coach rather than an old school manger, we could do far worse

Could DK be waiting for LC to quit/finish his tenure, and then appoint him ?
After all, he's an ex player, a well regarded attacking coach with recent success, and lives locally...seems a perfect fit.

Wavering between yes and meh. I tend to think he will be the most popular realistic candidate but I'm making big assumptions about who else is in the hat and envisaging a relatively low bar.

Whether we want Carsley or not is moot seeing as he's got a disabled daughter he's said he'd rather focus on more than being a first team coach/manager

Think it's a son, but anyway, and to his credit, every decision he makes has the child's welfare front at centre of his considerations so if the packed schedule of the Championship doesn't suit he won't come.

Yes, I would be happy with Carsley.

I’d be happy with either of the three front runners as manager, all have their pros and cons.
