He's a good lad, No Loyalty, except when he sits next to me at the City.As most of you know, I keep the support going here on the Isle of Wight, but in two weeks time, I will be returning to the land of the living and the 21st Century! Not Coventry, but Malvern in Worcestershire. My new home is dwarfed by the fantastic Malvern Hills, so really looking forward to it.
Reason for moving is, I will be a major carer for my disabled older brother, so I'm going to be really busy with his needs - days out, meals out, shopping, Christmas etc. But family is important to me.
Hope to get to a few games now, as well, coz I've missed going up to the City!
Had a nice meet-up with "No-loyalty" while he and his lovely family were here for a week or so. Enjoyed a couple of pints and a good old chin wag! Cheers mate!
So, if anyone is up in the Malverns for the day, look us up! I've already discovered my local! Cracking place!
Determined to turn me into a veggie, Otis! :emoji_laughing: Yep, Cov isn't far to get to now. And no, my bruv isn't a Cityite! In fact he doesn't follow any sports! Boring old fart! :emoji_laughing:He's a good lad, No Loyalty, except when he sits next to me at the City.
Only about an hour Malvern to Coventry isn't it? Lovely part of the country. Used to visit regularly. Would go and get a make your own salad from the Waitrose salad bar and take it up the hills and have a picnic.
Good luck, Houch. Your brother a City-ite too?
That's the one thing I'm so looking forward to Wingy. I miss seeing all of my fabulous grandkids growing up.Be seeing more of your kids too Houch,no doubt?
I will be literally living at the foot of the hills! The views are stunning! I'm just a bit unsure as to how the heck I will get to the top with a really dodgy ticker and bloody arthritis! I'm sure I'll find a way. The lure will be too strong!Hope to see a few photos of the hills in the photography thread.

I'm gutted to have to sell all of my sea fishing gear, but I might take up coarse fishing again. The River Severn is close by.Is there any good fishing nearby Houch
Thanks Tony!Beautiful part of the country is the Malvern Hills. Good luck HH hope it all works out for you and your brother.
Having to get rid of my sea fishing gear (someone coming round this afternoon). Might take up river fishing again. River Severn is just up the road.At least you are moving to another very nice place HH. But what about your sea fishing? Don't get many cod in lakes.
One of my sons was conceived in the Lickey Hill just outside Brum!Had my first sexual contact with the fairer sex on the Malvern hills on a school trip in 1978. maybe it was on the hill overlooking your house, my finger still smells to this day.
Anyway good luck HH and I really hope you enjoy that fantastic scenery

We can have a referendum if you like NW. We'll call it the "Clash Referendum" - "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" Looking forward to all the repetitive posts!Slightly worried we were going to have a referendum about this, followed by a thread with a thousand repetitive posts discussing it.
When we've settled in BBR, you must come over for a day and we can have a few bevvies in my new "local", The Nag's Head. Look it up on Google. This is a picture of it. It's just a 3 minute walk away! …….Been up the Malvern Hills lots of times,as a kid and as an adult. Last time about 10 years ago, took my son with me. Love the place, and as I like walking the hills has to be one of Englands finest. The town is nice too some nice pubs etc. I envy you Houch as I'd be up those hills every weekend, but I enjoy walking down the Slough here in Cov, but not in the same league as Malvern !
When I was with my ex missus we walked the hills, but I only got her to go up them when I told her there was a cafe on top of one of the beacons. There was once but it got burned down and never replaced. When we've settled in BBR, you must come over for a day and we can have a few bevvies in my new "local", The Nag's Head. Look it up on Google. I just needed to get off the island and be a bit nearer to me bruv. Malvern just happened to have somewhere nearby. He lives in Studley near Alcester, so a quick 30 minutes or so away. Worcester, A422 to Alcester then A435 to Studley. Easy. When I was with my ex missus we walked the hills, but I only got her to go up them when I told her there was a cafe on top of one of the beacons. Anyway by the time we got back down we were dying for a drink and some food, and I'm sure this was the pub we went in. You're a lucky bloke to move there,it really is a special place.
Almost, Wingy. Boxes and bags all over the place! It's a living bloody nightmare! Never again! You all packed and ready then?
Thanks for the positivity JD. Me and Mrs HH are really looking forward to moving up there. Just need to get over the ACTUAL move itself!Used to go to the Nags Head fairly regularly a few years ago as I had friends that lived on Lygon Bank. Great place to live, I'd move there in a shot if i had the opportunity.
Euphemism? :emoji_kissing_smiling_eyes:One of my sons was conceived in the Lickey Hill just outside Brum!
Great read Gazolba. I'm looking forward to taking some photos when I settle in. Hoping the wildlife will be as varying as down here on the island.Lot of interesting information (and some stunning photos) here:

Some of the individual hills have links of their own with more great photos.
