What Ricoh discussions? That's history, our owners said it was worth nothing, so didn't put a sensible offer in and another offer was accepted.

Christ, try and keep up, that was years ago. Anderson wasn't even here. Please pay attention.

Stop running away.

Recent discussions about the academy...are you still with me?

Are you saying Wasps weren't in attendance but Anderson was? Go on...say it again

Submitted late. Does it have to be considered at all? We had the opportunity to make a relevant point today that is considered, as long as it's relevant. For whatever reason it wasn't.

So to sum up. We've submitted two letters both after a deadline to be considered, were granted an audience at the meeting despite this giving us the opportunity to make a relevant statement and didn't make a relevant statement.

All things considered you'll forgive me for questioning how serious the club are taking this.

OK... So it starts off with the news about CA saying there is a possibility we aren't at the Ricoh.

I said:

Hit the nail on the head.

In an article looking the victim, I'd have personally pinned it on Wasps. "We are at the mercy of others, it isn't our decision if we stay or not" or something like that.

Hasn't it been obvious for a while? Wasps won't discuss things will they? What will happen if they don't want us there or say we can play there with stupid conditions (they can do what they want, they own it)?

Well, my stance is you do the negotiation. You sit down, talk, let Wasps put the offer on the table.

If it is a ridiculous offer that screws us over then surely EVERYONE would turn on Wasps wouldn't they?

It would be black and white with none of this he's not talking to me and she's not talking to him bollocks we have at the moment.

Let Wasps commit to an offer for us to stay and let's have the offer made public. Then we would know just how much Wasps want us out, if that is indeed the case.

You seem to think it would actually make a difference whatever was said?

They've had days to get the relevant parts into a three minute's. How many did they mention?

Why wouldn't I be angry about it. It was a joke. The question is why are you falling over yourself to defend it?

When you have one opportunity to make a relevant argument you should make it. They had the relevant information, they paid an independent expert to get it, they had the opportunity and then chose not to use it at the opportune moment and not only do you not question why you attack those who have the common sense to question why.

I haven't defended anything, can you point out where I said "Amazing speech"? I am just saying you would be angry and moan either way.

It was 3 fucking minutes, 1 of them had no idea who he was so it shows how relevant they thought it was going to be. I doubt any of them even looked up at him while he spoke.

Why wouldn't you be more concerned at the fact the outcome was typed, printed and ready to hand out to people whether it was Tim Fisher, The pope or Delia Smith shouting...

Can you really not see the speech was irrelivant and that you would have moaned either way? Especially if he didn't go like you suggested earlier.

Common sense to question why they didn't get an expert in for a 3 minute talk that would make no difference at all? Why don't you use the common sense to see it would make no difference at all... If he had sent an expert you would be moaning that the guy knows nothing about CCFC so wasn't in the right position to speak on their behalf.

It is a far cry from your thread about the Wasps Boycott....

(again, not once defended or even acknowledged his speech and what came out of his mouth)

Well that's just bloody great (yet completely predictable).

Haven't read it all but what a load of rubbish! Clearly aren't showing any care for CCFC.

All this 'non material / material' stuff is just smoke screens.

As for the objections, have they just cherry picked the quite clearly negative / anti council ones to try and make a point? Not sure if that's them all listed, was it 19 initially? but I'm sure I put one on the website for objections and didn't word it any way as they are stated to. And I'd have hoped more than 19 people objected.

Yes, comments from Fisher haven't helped us in the long run (re stadium and dream of our own training centre etc), but this clearly shows we cannot work with Wasps. But will be another place they own outright and we don't!

And btw, what even is a kicking barn? Sounds like the shit spare room anyone can have a kick about in, on wasps terms of course.

I mean what use is 3 hours a day to us? Definately wouldn't keep our academy status with that!

Imagine if wasps academy were offered those terms; they wouldnt accept them!!!

As for the 20,000 attendance figures, I think the council are viewing things with their blinkers on! Anyone know their actual attendance, albeit even that will be inflated due to European games.

Interesting that the Secretary of State didn't offer any Apposals.

Who is our Secretary of State for this kind of thing now? I feel an email coming in

You're doing it again. I'm well aware it was three fucking minutes, that's why you get only fucking relevant thing's in those three fucking minutes. You can carry on defending it with excuses like it's three fucking minutes or someone didn't even recognize him. They probably thought he was some random fan who hadn't hired an expert in planning from what he said.

How do you know what I would have done either way. I tell you what I would have done if he'd stood up and made a relevant argument. I would have said well done Mr. Fisher for a change. He hasn't offered me that opportunity though has he?

Yes I can see the speech was irrelevant, the content made sure of that. Maybe he's a double agent. Certainly he said nothing to hamper the process which was the least he should have done.

How do I know? Because you were saying earlier he shouldn't have gone. I'd put a weeks wages on you being annoyed if nobody from CCFC turned up.

The general consensus was "they should send somebody, but it wont make a bit of difference" on the thread yesterday... Not 1 person said they should send the expert did they? It is amazing to say it after it happened though.

Either way, whatever they did, whatever they said wouldn't have made a difference and people would have been angry. It is the blind hatred that people seem to have, it is embarrassing really.

It is amazing that you are saying I am defending something (which Im not) where the outcome was written and printed before it even happened...

That is the issue we have here, people can't see what is going on. You are too busy finding a way to be angry at whatever the club do, whether he goes, whether he doesn't, whether he says x, whether he says y. In the meantime, the fact that outcome was already decided gets ignored and becomes irrelevant...

Jan comes on and says "it isnt about statements people have made", of course it is. Call them all out on all of the statements, if Breed is throwing bullshit around then call him out on it too rather than hanging off his every word. If he proves CA and the club were saying recently they wanted to move then go ape shit at the club.

Look at the attention your Boycott Wasps thread got, it isn't a co-incidence people were falling over themselves to sign up and post on it and ruin it Well, until they put out the generic "door is open" statement for people to mental over.

If Breed is saying CCFC said things in meetings but has no written minutes or emails for example, probably explains why they want things in writing before they get the PR game played.

Have a look at the bigger picture, otherwise you will end up meeting with CSF and just calling on the club again. Rather than giving them pressure and questions.

Whose idea was it to sent Fisher? Seriously? The one bloke no one outside of the club gets on with, ruffles feathers whenever he opens his mouth, and we send him to a meeting where he gets 3 minutes to talk, and talks sooooo slowly, not really getting our points across that well at all?

Don't think we did ourselves any favours doing that.

Really disappointed in the clubs call to send him. In fact I think I'm more angry!

Yes I know he's in a position of some power (believe it or not!), but surely with his form of dealing with club affairs, even the club can see he should remain locked in the cupboard he's been inside of late?

You say it is "the club", Jan's posts yesterday were all aimed at the club...

Call every prick out, Breed has said that CCFC Said things that has made them take the decision in meetings. Ask him to stump up the minutes / emails etc. He shows everybody that CCFC said it, it confirms it doesn't it.

So, to summarise, it was all a stitch-up. The academy is doomed, and yet all some people seem concerned about is finding reasons (sometimes desperately so) to justify the stitch-up.

I won't go as far to say that some people wanted today's outcome, but it's hard not to make that judgement given some of the anti-CCFC bile being spouted on here. Bittter, hyperbolic bullshit aimed in completely the wrong direction.

I would guess he was sent as it was his name on the letter so it was assuming it was him who had been dealing with the planners.

I said yesterday to send MV, as he has no history and is all football but it wouldn't make any difference at all.

That is not me defending, just saying probably why they sent him....

CCFC will not die - if the worst comes to the worst the name of the Club is the only asset...they will sell it. BUT I have said ever since they bought the Ricoh that they will also buy CCFC because it makes so much more sense...2 Clubs in one stadium...doubles the usage roughly. They get more return for their investment - & there is definitely as much money for them in a half decent Championship club than a Premiership Rugby Club.

Firstly the Higgs Charity is stopping SISU. So buying land is out of the question.
http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/charitys-legal-clause-kills-coventry-11449119

Secondly there is an issue about further reductions in pitch availability to the public, though I'm wondering now why that wasn't put forward as an objection to Wasps plans by CCFC? Aren't they taking some pitch time?

This was the CCFC statement, made on Jun 7th, shortly after Wasps submitted their plans.
http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/alan-higgs-centre-statement-3137431.aspx
They say "To contribute to Coventry becoming a City of Sport,....To help fast track this initiative symbolically and practically, we also are prepared to move all football operations, including our 1st team training base to the Higgs Centre and therefore into the city of Coventry."

They have also still got a statement on their web site about an integrated stadium and academy.
http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/the-way-forward-coventry-city-020115-2177171.aspx

and they've also recently indicated a desire to move the team to the Butts and talked to CRC about that.
http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-butts-park-arena-ground-3117777.aspx

I think you'll find there is a statement to suit every possible option, but no actual action.
