I'm sure thorn won't as we are not mathematically down.
I would like to see Clarke-Harris though!

Would be better if we were mathematically down. We could then indeed experiment and try the likes of Daniels and Clarke-Harris and Phillips.

AT won't do it though as we still are in with a chance of staying up (even though we all know that is a joke of a chance)

Wouldn't it better to have a team on the pitch who are fit enough to play for us?

I do wonder what the likes of Jimmy Hill, George Curtis, John Sillett, Ron Farmer, Mick Coop, Mick Kearns and many others think of this lot. They were all totally committed and got us to the promised land. It is so easy to get relegated so hard to do the opposite!

Tbh the current team had gone on an 8 game unbeaten run and had a fantastic home record since late November '11. Much of that was down to the stubborness of formation tactics early on imo, also having Norwood and Nimely helped of course...

I wouldn't play them now. It's not going to be a pleasant atmosphere I feel, so you dont want them to be affected by that.

So David Bell hasn't failed us? Sammy Clingan? Sheff? Freddy?

You sure? :thinking about:

Well I think some players feel the lack of support more than others. And I agree with above post that it's no time to blood youngsters if the atmosphere on Sat is angry

The players do have to take some responsibilty for sure. We all know Sisu shoulder the vast majority of the blame but those players i have mentioned above, have they truly sweat any blood for our cause?

And as I say, many of our players are playing with injuries anyway so are not even close to being 100% fit.

Indeed...mismanaged funds, in fact no funds, means no depth in squad for crisis situations. Truth is none of us has the answer...only a sad feeling in our gut that it shouldn't be this way!

Certain players will have to look at themselves, but overall as a squad they have not had enough quality or depth to compete over the season. I would except our fate and give all the younger players the game at Southampton soaking up a large crowd in party mood, and see if any of them like the feeling enough to want it again..

yeh its sisus fault we cant tackle, pass or shoot.

We can though and that's the very point. In many matches we have had good possession and passed the ball about well and for most games for most of the season we have competed on an all but equal footing with almost every team in this division.

I simply will not accept that the players aren't good enough. The squad isn't big enough and that has ultimately been our downfall, but they have been occasions where we have expected the players to perform and they have failed us and it has nearly always been in the key games where we have needed something from the game and simply not turned up (Leshtur, Bristol, Forest).

I've blamed the owners all season. The lack of resources given has meant the side wearing sky blue is just NOT good enough!
Only Keogh, Nimely, craine and Norwood are at a championship standard.

But now I lie half the blame on the players.
They had it in their own hands we were in safety with 6 games to go and had the easiest run arguably in the league!
Yet they bottled it and IMO the effort shown recently is a joke.
I was disgusted that a player like Mcsheffery who goes on about being a 'cov fan' was walking on the 70th minute.
He may not be fit, he may have a knock but at the end of the day he's being paid 6k+ at the end of the week.

Bristol are no better than us, yet they went and did the job and hats of to them they have exceeded what was expected of them a few weeks back.

Thorn also has a little to blame as he should be the one trying to push the players on and asking for more commitment.

All of the above post sums it up for me. The Players are to blame, Tue game was a must win and 8/9 players were not up for it
But..... at the end of the day you can not Pollish sh*t and thats what AT has to work with...

But it's not a dreadful idea though if we have players only playing at 70% or less is it.*

That would be my main reason for considering.

* This is of course my most humble honest opinion of course and in no way would I like this to be considered as any kind of fact.

Well that's my thinking.

Suppose you have to ask yourselves, would you want a Platt operating at 70% or a kid like Daniels opertaing at 100%?

Lets not tar youngsters with experiencing relegation and failure. We just go on as we are now IMO.

Otis - we are good enough in virtually every department with the exception of the most important department in football: putting the ball in the back of the net, and doing so when it matters in a match. Our forwards are not good enough, with the exception of juke, who we've already sold. Cody looks promising granted.

Juke - 25 apps 9 goals =

Platt - 22(10) apps 4 goals
+
RO'D - 6(5) apps 0 goals
+
Nimely - 16(1) apps 1 goal
+
Cody - 14(7) apps 4 goals
+
Freddie - 0(4) apps 0 goals
+
Jeffers - 0(1) apps 0 goals

Was selling Juke the dumbest thing SISU have done?

Disagree to a degree.

I don't think we have created enough chances and not enough clear ones for sure. If we were missing loads of sitters I would say you had more of a case, but looking back, the only player who was missing quite a few chances from very good positions was ...... Juke.

He's played 17 games for Boro and scored 2 league goals. :thinking about:

Sick and tired of people blaming the players, especially Clingan, who has been harshly criticised.
1) the squad is too small
2) there are not enough experienced players
3) the kids are very raw and not (yet) good enough.
4) our strikers are not goalscorers.
These are facts.
The squad, as a whole, is not good enough.

Of course if we just had King we would not be in the bottom 6.... A goalscorer is SO important.

No we're not missing loads of sitters, but we've missed a lot which better strikers would have at least hit the target.

We don't create enough clear cut chances but again a lot of that is down to the lack of quality in the final third. 7 teams have had less shots than us.

We have missed some chances though we had 5/6 great openings v millwall, where most of the shots went high and wide. Hit the post twice against Peterborough, Cody could have had a hatrick against ipswich early in the season, juke missed a great chance v brum away, palace home platt weakly passed back from Clarke's cross, cody missed a 1-on-1 in the first half v burnley at home. Watford away Cody rounded the keeper and it was cleared off the line, Nimely's had 3/4 openings on the edge or just in inside the box and snatched his shots wide.

Platt wouldn't be in any other teams starting 11, middlesboro played nimely wide because he's not good enough at championship level to be relied on to score goals, and I don't think Cody would start for many teams in the championship. ROD's struggling to get a game north of the boarder (5starts 5 subs).
