Lol thats your comeback.

Have a look at what the 17th place team in prmeier is worth.

Why are you hammering Lampard?

We need to grow up and realise that MAN for MAn we arnt the best team.

To just stupidly play same team and same formation is awfull against teams that man for man are twice as good is ridcukous.

An expmaple being.

We bring on Eccles an Allen to change game and they bring on Akpom and Philogene.

So based on that, a team worth 5x ours, why are you hammering Lampard?

So your answer tells me it was obvious to yiu too! So you agree.

About what?

Ipswich should be beating us. Their squad is worth more than our entire expenditure in the past 20 years put together. They've won two matches against us where they should have been down to 10 men and have had 2 of the clearest penalty decisions you'll ever see go their way.

What are you hammering Lampard for?

I just explained. The tactics and formation wa wrong. He could have changed it. But did nothing.

What would you have done different?
Matched them up. Gone 3 at the back. Bring on lati.

Brau and MVE as wing backs.

Take off sakamoto and played 3 in midfield with 2 strikers Simms and Haji.

Wingers wasnt going to work today.

We were just over run in every department.

Rather lose trying soemthing.

This says it all. Their tactics were so spot on . It was probably the latest they made a substitutions ever in this season cos their tactics were not countered. Truly pathetic.

We’re doing brilliant but you can still criticise, if the way you set up is getting battered at home after 20 mins isn’t working, you can change it,
100% fuck me its not rocket science.

Its mental how he expected something to change.

Like i said Ipswich didnt make subs till very late
Cos it was treat man for man. Awfull

That’s the easiest away win they’ll get all season, extra body in midfield stops that, wer‘e a point better off and theyve got 2 points less, you don’t have to go all out every game

Thought he made a mistake with the bidwrll/Brau decision.. but lots were calling for it. I just think Bidwell would have stood up better against their wing play. Still.. it’s one game so no meltdown from me. How amusing will it be if Oxford pull one out the hat and we beat Charlton on NYD.

Interesting reading how Millwall who wernt the better team vs Bristol City today. Just won and bbc Article points at their flexibility and Alex neils tactical nouse. Changed to a back 5 mid way through 2nd half and they got a winner. When they were 2nd best team the whole match.

Millwall btw have so many injuries and made 5 substitutions during formation change.

Frustrating why we couldnt do it. Buck lies with one person.

EMC showed he has got a mean streak! Furlong was taking the piss out of the ref because he let him get away with murder and only booked him in the 86th minute, we should have done Jack Clarke on reciprocation.

To be honest, the bigger question is whether or not Rudoni and Wright are the best players to be starting at the moment. Sakamoto hasn’t been a threat for a while so our only credible goalscorer today was EMC.

I won’t shit the bed over the result tonight. It was disappointing but every Champion has a team they just can’t beat - remember when we battered Fulham twice in 21/22?!

Get to Jan, get reinforcements and we go again v Charlton.

We should be looking at our supply to the forwards and to be quite honest of late its been appalling. When EMC swapped with Wright for about 10 minutes we looked a bit better as it was more focused don't know why it stopped as Furlong started to get desperate against Wrights speed and Kipre was not happy about EMC being up against him. Then FL changed things with the subs

The problem was much less about tactics last night and much more about the fact that Rudoni is out of form and had a bad game yet again and that Saka has been off his game lately too and he had a poor game too

All Ipswich had to do was to nullify EMC. Wright didn't play well, but had very poor service.

Rudoni was a passenger last night.

The one change I think that may have made the difference, was Eccles for Rudoni. But I can see why FL went for Rudoni again. When he's on form, he's one of the best players in the Championship.

He's so frustrating at the moment, because we all know what he's capable of and what a match winner he can be.

He seriously needs to recapture his form, because he's offering very little at the moment.

An in-form Saka and and in-form Rudoni, last night, might well have made a hell of a difference.

This is spot on Otis and IMO Lampard should be seeing this game to game and it reflecting in his team selection, especially Rudi and Saka. You could make the argument “how does he change it” without having the depth that an Ipswich do, but I would’ve considered three at the back or two up top. Something different while others aren’t firing.

Lampard’s comments about the fans in my view is counterintuitive and that’ll do more harm than good. Ultimately fans pay their money and have a right to an opinion whether that’s inside the ground or not. I do take your point @Evo1883 about it not helping the atmosphere inside the stadium when fans are on the players backs, but that’s the reality, you can’t tell fans they can’t have an expectation of a player to run or do something even if most of the knowledgeable fans will see things and understand it differently.

I was very frustrated with the game last night, but in truth this performance has been coming as we’ve not been good for a few games now and last night was the point it culminated.

Reaction is important, not an ideal place to go Charlton, but we have to bounce back with two local derbies on the horizon. Confidence will be key.

He’s 100% right to call them out, ffs. He’s not going to pander to the and shouldn’t have to.

I would have gone 5-3-2 and sat in to hit on the break, but the issue there is EMC then has no clear role and he’s been the man in form. I still don’t think we’d have got anything but it looked odd instructing the players to sit deep in a 4-3-3, like a mish mash of set ups.

It was clear we were under instruction not to press the keeper but in my view that was the wrong decision. He’s crap with the ball at his feet and could quite easily have made a mess of things with the amount of times he feinted to play the ball. You don’t want just Wright or just Rudoni pressing but when Torp was getting up there as well so all 3 options were covered someone needed to press the keeper. Ideally we could have got him kicking long before their front line had chance to set, but far too passive. Maybe as much as anything it was a fitness thing.

I still think a lot of the reason for the defeat sits at the players feet way more than Lampards. I can't remember a game this season with the volume of shit passes turning over possession as we had in the first half and it wasn't just one player. Add in to that the forwards making bad decisions and running in to cul-de-sacs we recycled the ball really well for them. I know they were pressing but it wasn't the crisp passing we are used to.

Add the Ref in to the mix who was frankly woeful and it was always going to be a struggle. If I was the club I'd be looking to get Furlong booked after the fact for where he was putting his hands to wind EMC up.

I didn't like the lack of press Lampard chose to go with, I get what he was saying but I think we are an effective pressing side when we choose to be and made us seem a bit passive for my taste.

As a side note I was extra frustrated they took the points given the flattering score line from their home game against us.

Fans have a right to opinion ultimately and he can’t control that, so no point calling them out.

What Lampard should be focussing on why a number of players forms are so low, how to get goals from our main striker and improving overall performances as the last few games have been below par, despite picking up points.

They’ve exhausted themselves this month and this was a bridge too far. Think that’s really all it is.

Why have we stopped doing the high press, putting pressure on the goalkeeper, defenders they were doing to us all game as we kept going long and never won a fucking header all night saka was a waste of time as was EMC they nullified us from the whistle and nothing done to change it.Hopefully we bounce back from this.

Because we rightly or wrong thought we could deal with them better if we tried to force them long from the keeper instead of having the possibility of them playing through the press and out numbering us in attack.
