lack of transfer activity - a positive spin (3 Viewers)

Nothing like trying to make the best of a bad situation but...

Surely the lack of transfer activity is partly down to Sisu considering the takeover bid from Hoffman? I mean think about it Sisu aren't going to start throwing money into the transfer kitty knowing full well they may not be here in a month, it would be poor judgement on their behalf. Like a normal company buying you a new laptop after you hand your notice in. It just wouldn't happen.

Perhaps this is a sign its the beginning of the end, maybe they will sell Clingan take the £s and accept Hoffman bid.

Who knows what's going on, but is a different slant on things.

Sorry to say, but the lack of transfer activities is down to one thing & one thing only. We literally have no money. It's as black & white as that.

Agreed they have considered the offer but are gambling that a bigger offer will be on offer if they dismiss the original offer as unprofessional etc. I also think it's the beginning of the end, but could be a long drawn out affair until sisu have to cut their losses. and yes they haven't got a pot to p*ss in

Disagree,

I don't think we have a lot by any stretch but of Hoffman wasnt on the scene we would have signed more players. Think about it we signed Murphy (who won't be cheap on wages) and Dunn even though we have Danny Ireland in reserve. We we were being linked with every player under the sun now the Hoffers on the scene nothing. Apart.... from loans which obviously will not have as bigger impact on coffers.

I also don't think we will sign anyone till January now (apart from loans)

They wouldn't invest money regardless of if we were selling up.

If they had money, they would invest it wisely and use it as further assets to the club meaning that they can up the price.

But as it stands, the lack in activity is worrying there is no positive spin on it whatsoever i'm afraid :(

A take over is probably the last thing on SISU's mind. They're just broke, and we're just broke.

Which goes to my point again, why would we sign two keepers, one of which who will be on he same money as Westwood when they could have just gone with one of the two and Ireland.

Because they were free transfers. We used the wages we saved from westwood, and chris dunn's transfer was a small development fee which is probably about the last we had. And we got both keepers because we've all seen how unreliable Danny Ireland was, and we needed a better backup.

So why offer Ireland a contract extension?

Anyways, all I'm saying is pre-hoff we spent money and signed two players. I think we were linked to about 7 or 8 ones I can think of are Donaldson, Fotheringham, Bogdanovic, Sunday, and I'm sure there were more and no smoke without fire as they say.

Post Hoff the only player I can thinly of is Pacheo (sp?) I'm not saying we are billionaires but I think we would have spent money.

I see where you're coming from, but you have to remember that rumours are called rumours for a reason. Don't read too much into it.

Ireland was offer a new deal before we secured Murphy &Dunn. So an insurance, if you like, in case one didn’t sign. Signing two seniorgoalies was the bare minimum SISU could get away with, to enable Thorn to fielda team. And the bare minimum is what they’ve done. They will be no moresignings (barring a loan striker) before the start of the season and the samewould have happened if Hoffman wasn’t around. We have no money and the wagebill STILL needs trimming.

The sooner we all recognise this, the better. There can be no other expectations from the coming season other than survival. Big expectations will only lead to frustrations and added pressure on Thorn and his men.

Spot on edgy - only transfers we will be involved in are sales or loans out. Won't see anyone coming in as we simply have no money and owners who are unwilling to put more than the bare minimum in just to keep us afloat. The sooner fans get to grips with the fact that no signings and survival will represent success, I just pray that again there are three sides worse than us but I am struggling to identify them.

Hoffman said sisu aren't even returning his calls so they deffinately aren't signing people because they're considering an offer.
