So after 3 weeks of fierce competition, and over 2,600 votes, it all comes down to this.

Hutchison, Speedie, Wallace, Regis, Blyth, Peake, McDonald, Ogrizovic, Ferguson, Bennett – some of the finest individuals to ever don sky blue go head to head for the ultimate prize – to be crowned the greatest Coventry City home kit of all-time.

No stripes, no intrusive swathes of white or navy. Just a mass of SKY. FUCKING. BLUE. as Jimmy had intended.

The Final - Admiral v Hummel, 75-81 v 87-89. LIVE!

You best have some emergency Werthers on hand…it’s gonna be a long day for you my friend.
I'm more a mint humbug man.

Just heading out to strim some thistles and nettles and fully expect to see an unassailable lead by the time I'm back in to change my incontinence pads.

Keep those vote coming in people. The most we’ve had so far was the Group 1 poll (150). It would be fitting for the final to eclipse that.

Getting a bit tight, but I'm confident that after a refreshing afternoon siesta, the old boys will be out in force to put their cross against the tramline kit.

Just going to spend a bit longer stroking m grey beard before I vote… playing the long game.

I'm ready. Kettle's on and the chocolate ginger snaps are out.

Fantastic experience that. Hot drink after a ginger biscuit. Makes life worth living.

The old one is the best of the rest since 96-7 97-8 didn't make it no contest for me!
That 96-97 / 97-98 didn’t make it is one of footballs greatest travesty’s. Like that Brazil team that didn’t win the World Cup that time.
I take solace from their captain, Socrates, saying “it is better to lose beautifully than win ugly”.
Im sure he would say exactly the same here…if he were on this forum, and hadn’t died some years ago.
I’m pretty sure he was also quoted as saying, “ @itsabuzzard you can stick your 75-81 shirt where the sun doesn’t shine”!

The tramline is our greatest ever kit and will never be bettered. It's looks ace whether it's in sky blue, red, chocolate or yellow. Found an old picture of me at a school sports day, summer 77. Wearing the trackie bottoms, bottom right summer77.jpg .

Bollocks. It's a greater travesty that the 69-72 isn't here slugging it out with the tramline.
I'm reliably informed that Socrates had both in his collection and faced a daily dilemma as to which one to wear for "night-time activities".

I’m loving the pose too - giving me strong ‘captain of the football team’ vibes.
Also If you’ve ever asked anyone to marry you, I pray that you were wearing those tracky bottoms at the time.

Asked Co-Pilot to come up with a modern interpretation of the "iconic coventry city tramline kit". Came up with this nonsense.

I have. Two unfortuntely's though: they accepted and I wasn't wearing those trackie bottoms. Shame I haven't got the top on too, but it was a hot day by the looks of it. A good old seventies summer.

THe pose I'd seen a thousand times in every copy of Shoot (incorporating Goal).

I reckon if you’d have been wearing them it might have solved the first ‘unfortunately’.

Yeah, that looks like a quintessentially Cov sports day / school scene from that era. Cracking pic.
