Not KK related but watched a quick doc on Graham Paddon, apparently one of the best players not to play for England. Started with us and sold after only 5 qst team games.

He died at 57, supposed to be an absolute gent and top player. Didn't even get a headline on his passing after illness.

Still remember the moment he resigned as England manager on the TV after losing the last game at the old Wembley…I felt so sorry for him, cared so much about the job that he knew it wasn’t right to carry on.

His Newcastle teams produced some really glorious football and deserved a title.

I do have a story on this one slightly odd but true. I used to be DJ and manager of a nightclub in Loughborough back in the day. One regular was Seb Coe on soft drinks. But Kevin Keagan has a younger brother who he wanted to set up with a business, and was going to buy the night club for him. The brother hung around for months and Kevin came a couple of times. Kevin and his team were diligent to the extreme. Ultimately Kevin said no. And that was that. Really nice guy and I wish him well and hope he beats it.

I was a Sammy’s indie kid on a Monday night. Could occasionally do the Tuesday student night and the Wednesday party night too. When I was proper hardcore (post exams) even did a couple of Thursday nights are (Local) Ladies nights at Sammy’s.

For the record, I’m sure Doug King was at Junction 23.
