Richard Keogh is the latest Coventry City player to come out and back Andy Thorn in his role as caretaker manager.

Speaking to the Sunday Mercury about Thorn, who many feel should get the job at least until his contract expires, Keogh said:

“He’s very approachable, very open.

"He makes it exactly clear what he wants and he builds people up which is great for your confidence.
“He has been great on the training ground as well and the results show that we’re enjoying our football.

"Our performances have been very positive, we’ve been scoring goals and we’ve kept a couple of clean sheets, so the games can’t come quickly enough at the moment – we want to kick on, finish as high as we can in the league and prove we’re a good side.”

I have been impressed with Keogh right through the season and think that he is spot on with comments about Thorny. Lets hope the board appoint him as the fans and players want him in.

Thorn wants the job, the fans want Thorn, the players want Thorn, he is cheap, available, knows the players, won't want or expect massive investment nor wholesale changes ... I was inclined to wait until the end of the season, but I think we've all seen enough now to know it's what we need in our position, so time to get this sorted imo.

Roberto Do you not think we were a little rocky against top half opposition at the weekend? Lets not forget AB got some good results earlier in the season and where is he now? We ground out a result, but I didn't think we made the man advantage tell like we should've done.

It could easily have gone the other way but I'm not that results orientated. What I saw above all else on Saturday was a decent game of football and that has been the norm in his short reign. I never experienced that under AB whether we won or lost. I'm glad we did beat Millwall, but the result has to be secondary to the entertainment when there is little to play for.

We could be kicking on for our highest league finish since Mickeh. I personally think that, that IS something to play for. Especially given the turbulant season that we have come through.

Rich, i tend to agree with you, however, i've been to every game since thorn took over and have been well impressed with what i have seen, it is not always easier to play against 10 men, Millwall went hell for leather after the twat got himself sent off, all the players seem to want him and they know him a lot better than us personally, only my opinion mate!!!!PUSB

May i disagree slightly with you both, Millwall were (still are) in with a play off shout we have nothing left really. So when they went down to 10 men they were allways gonna up the anti and go for it they had too. We had good chances throughout as did they. That is the first top 8 team we have beaten and sending off aside deserved the result.

We played lovely football and picking up on an early quote, thorn would be more than happy to stick with this side next year, hence no transfer kitty. I suppose King/Gunna may be a sore point, westy is gone to be fair. But we can build with what we have, King will be gone i am sure beacuse he is too good and a bigger club will come knocking and offer top dollar to him. however we may pick up a gem striker for nowt who knows.....AT may even get better out of freddie and roy aswell!!

Bang on, smileycov. Cracking game Saturday and we deserved the points. I think I saw us win when deserving to ONCE under Aidy! The rest (eg Doncaster) were games where we were massively outplayed but got lucky through being more direct than the opposition.

The only thing I would disagree with is getting the best out of Freddie. I've been a supporter of his and would continue to do so whilst he is here, but I'm starting to think that it really won't happen for him and there are only so many times you can say we'll give him another chance. I hope he proves me wrong, but I think if we can get him off the wage bill in the summer then we probably should.

I was thinking that!

I think if Gunna, King and Westy go as is expected then we'd need players in to replace them. Thorn's shown he's got the ability to work with what he has but I'd rather not find out if he can perform miracles! I'd rather not see Andy Marshall here as KW's replacement either, just not good enough.
