Ken Dulieu in the dug out ? Looking at it from another angle (1 Viewer)

If there's one thing all football fans know than it is dressing rooms before kick-off and certainly at half-time or taboo for any chairman, ex-chairman admin man etc,etc, certainly at proffesional level. So i've been thinking why would Dulieu impose himself there and that is exactly what he did, just listen to Thorn's interview after the match. One thing Ken Dulieu isn't and that is thick, he knew what would be said so the only reason i can come to is he wants Andy Thorn to resign. I believe AT is on a rolling 12 month contract, not sure of his salary but i would guess about £3k a week maybe more, £150000 a year, to sack him will cost his employer (SISU) atleast a £150k,by resigning SISU think they can get out of paying him off, the financial burden falls on them. it can be the only logical reason for Dulieu to do it. Thorn isunder imense pressure now poor results and a massive snub to his authority. I am an old school football fan and i would have loved to see Dulieu try this on with Shankly, Revie or Brian Clough. Cloughie would of threw him in the bath. but also Brian Clough's or Revie or Shankleys players and any others would have told him to get out or else. Did ours ?

Well, for the record Sam Longson did call "Clough's Bluff". It was Longson and Jack Kirkland that ensured Clough and Taylor left Derby. To my mind, I'm certain Ken is trying to fashion a similar kind of situation here. Try whatever he can to force Thorn's hand. It's exactly the kind of slimy, knife-in-the back tactic I think most people would expect him to pull.

The Derby players were all ready to go on strike because of the Derby board. You see, in those days, players cared more than just about the money. As much as they feared Clough, they would all have shed blood for him. Our bunch of players, I don't think that theory really applies. Agreed, he just is dumb enough to not appreciate or understand the taboo aspect that the OP speaks of. He did this because he's utterly clueless about the game. I can imagine just how cold and inhibited that dressing room must have been, and it produced the football to match as an inevitable consequence. He really should not be allowed to do this again. I have never been more outraged or ashamed as a CCFC supporter.

Toss*r... Didn't think that this would be the first word I'd post, but incensed by the actions of the Orange one. Have seen some dark time for city, but in many ways today was a new low for me (perhaps soon to be outdone around late-March/early-April when we'll be mathematically down). I completely agree with others that this was a calculated act intended to get a reaction... I hope AT walks and leaves with some dignity - I for one will thank him, as he's shown loyalty; bought some good players in (seen them sold) and youth through (just hope the trauma of this season doesn't set them too far back); tried hard and appears to genuinely care. His position is pretty much untenable with that joker looking over his shoulder. Thanks Andy and good luck!

Having not heard the CWR interview, but having just seen the FLS interview with the lady, it is quite clear to see what effect it had in Thorn's opinion. He looked bloody livid.

BBC: "How do you feel about Ken Dulieu being on the bench with you today?"
Thorn (unsmiling, through gritted teeth): "He's Head of Football Operations, he can do what ever he wants. If I had my wish he'd throw himself over the bridge to Carpark C".

OK he didn't say the last line, but the look in his eyes implied that his thoughts were somewhat that way inclined!
