Massive blow, such a difficult type of player to replace. He's grown and grown into the role, has the right amount of experience and keeps us ticking. Need a really good player to come in and replace him, not sure who though. If anything they probably need to be a better player to come straight in and slot straight into the way we play.

Eccles is a defensive midfielder.

Breaks up the play and keeps it simple on the ball.

Would be a lot of responsibility on him but he's a good talent and if there's no money available then we should recall him because there's no way we can make do with only Hamer and Sheaf for 3 months

To be honest I think a Camp-like free agent who can cover for a few months should be pursued irrespective of Eccles, we could really use some experience in there.
