With all due respect to Gloucester, I would hope our bar is a little higher than the one set by their manager for 21 year-old keepers.

He’s also talked up Rapha and gave him next to no game time. Realistically, if he’s as good as everyone says, we’ll give him experience in L1 or L2 to prove himself.

Look at how good Addai is doing right now, he just wasn’t at the required level when he was with us. Goalkeepers generally take longer than outfield players to develop.

There’s no guarantee on Dovin coming back in the new year and hitting his stride.

We’ve got to look for a keeper who can be number 1. Too much of a risk not to with the stupidity of this season.

I saw his comment as a nice bit of encouraging praise about Bell's shot stopping. Nothing was said about his ability to dominate the box at set plays, footwork, distribution and kicking.

That doesn't mean anything really. Bidwell recently renewed his but it's quite clear he's most likely off this summer.

Overall Sunderland were far better at the dark arts, far far better.

Every team in this division is. We are too nice, soft or naive. There isn’t any nastiness, grit or bite in us bar maybe Kitching. Hate to say this but we can’t rely on finesse and skill alone. With the poor quality of officiating in this division, employing the dark arts and shithousery when needed is almost a necessity.
