kcic (draft) FAQs - comments welcome!

In a nutshell, what is kcic about?

• kcic is a 100% peaceful but focused and determined campaign which says Coventry City FC belongs at the Ricoh Arena and opposes CCFC games being played at Northampton Town FC
• The kcic view is: the interests of the team and fans should come before politics and profits; acl and Coventry City Council have questions to answer but sisu are primarily responsible for the move to NTFC; we would be better off owning the Ricoh but sisu are not good for CCFC and cannot be trusted; for a successful and sustainable future we need a new fan led ownership model, working alongside co-investors

How was kcic set up?

• An individual fan set up the old Not One Penny More campaign
• As NOPM grew it became unmanageable for one person so he asked the Sky Blue Trust to take it over, which it did in May 2013
• With the announcement of the move to NTFC, NOPM became a tactic within a broader Keep Cov in Cov campaign
• The Trust then decided it wanted to separate off the kcic campaign and made it an independent group

How many members does kcic have?

• kcic operates on an entirely informal basis with no membership system
• Ideas are discussed via social media and e-mail, with people then helping out as and when they can
• What kcic does is down to the hundreds (possibly thousands?) of people who have helped with and become involved in different events and activities

How is kcic funded?

• Some City fans have very generously helped out with the cost of posters and so on
• The biggest contributions have been from people doing things like printing leaflets and producing banners completely free of charge
• A lot of people were asking about having a kcic t-shirt so that’s been set up and we now get commission of £2/£3 on each sale

Where does kcic stand on the acl-sisu dispute?

• kcic is pro team and pro fan and has never bought into being pro/anti acl/sisu

Does kcic think fans are divided because of the acl-sisu dispute?

• If fans were as divided as some people claim, there would have been a lot more than a couple of bits of verbals at games
• The real story is that City fans have acted with great dignity and respect - the atmosphere at away games has been great
• kcic has put a lot of time and effort into listening to City supporters and is confident that its view is that of an overwhelming majority - there are people at the extremes of the situation but they are tiny minorities

Does kcic support a new stadium being built?

• No
• Our home is the Ricoh
• The overwhelming majority of City fans do not want a new stadium – especially as sisu say it would not even be in Coventry - and if one was ever built, would boycott it

Does kcic support a new ‘AFC Coventry/Phoenix’ Club?

• No
• Around Christmas time a lot of people were asking about this so we looked at it but rejected the idea
• We can still support the team at away games and that is what matters

kcic Highlights?

● the ‘Why’ event at Arsenal (which was a testament to the hard work of a lot of unsung heroes) ● the follow-up at Notts County ● keeping the CCFC story in the spotlight last summer, when things had gone very flat after the march ● the NTFC boycott which has by far and away attracted the most interest and support for our plight ● the www.FixFootball.co.uk ePetition for an Independent Inquiry is the biggest by far of the various CCFC petitions ● listening to the views of City fans through polls and surveys ● doing any positive things we can: at one event we raised money for the Alzheimer’s Society; we have contributed to grass roots football in Coventry by sponsoring a non league team’s away kit; kcic t-shirts are now being supplied by a local start-up company called Bluddog whose shop is appropriately just a stone’s throw from the Ricoh

What next for kcic?

• Continue supporting the boycott of NTFC and go to away games - as Danny Kelly said in awarding City supporters the title of Fans of the Year, by boycotting NTFC but going to away games we’ve got a way of supporting the team but not the owners
• Continue the hard slog of pushing the www.FixFootball.co.uk ePetition as the best way of getting an Independent Inquiry into the CCFC fiasco and to call to account all those responsible
• Promote kcic t-shirts as a way of spreading the kcic message and generating some income
• But at the moment, like everyone else, we are awaiting the outcome of the Judicial Review and will decide on the next phase of the campaign then

PUSB!

Although no one really thinks a new stadium will be built... if one was built why on earth would you boycott it??

For the same reason as not going to Northampton. We are Coventry City, not Northampton City, Nuneaton City or anywhere else.

I like how Michael thinks that fans are not divided

Either I've not made it clear or you're misreading it! I'm not saying everyone's united, just that the level of division is exaggerated and what is actually most striking is how there has been virtually no conflict apart from a couple of bits of verbals involving half a dozen people. In all the events we have done recently as with everything previously, a big majority of people are in agreement. As I've said before on here, when you do an event you don't get one person saying 'it's all acl's fault' then one saying 'it's all sisu's fault'. You here an odd comment like that but the vast maj use variations on the theme of 'acl and ccc have questions to answer but sisu are primarily responsible and can't be trusted'. We're using that line because it's what's been said to us over and over again

Your right, people have different opinions as to who is to blame for the problems the ' club' faces, but we are all united behind the ' team'

The same reason why people decide they want to go to Sixfields, choice. Or do you have a problem with free will?

Er... the campaign group is 'Keep Cov in Cov' - if the club return to Coventry then what is the problem? Or is just about boycotting because Michael will only support owners that say he can be in control of a little bit of it.

And then you use the line 'pro team' and 'pro club' - not too much contradiction there.

Because he is sick and tired of waiting for your plans that we were being shown months ago that you said would be weeks. So in short, it's bullshit!

I can assure you it's not 'bullshit' as you put it and their are very good reasons why but hey-ho, you go on believing what you beleive. I know what I know!

Still a 1% chance of returning to the Ricoh by the way but I don't personally think it will happen, however we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

If you are on about the line where Michael say's about boycotting the new stadium, with the line he writes before, do you not think he is saying if the stadium is not in Coventry? Or are you just trying to make him look daft to suit your agenda?

Thanks for the reply and seeing as you are in such a giving mood, can you now explain why months ago you said we will definitely see plans for the new stadium in weeks? Maybe now you can see why people say bullshit.

Good reasons why neither you or I have seen those plans but I assure you they do exist.

For confidential reasons I regret that I'm unable to say more.

Just because I or others don't deliver such information just to suit you.

The way things are going you may have to wait just a little longer.

I know we live in an 'instant' society where everything's supposed to have happened yesterday or immediately, unfortunately as in football as in life, it just doesn't happen!

Something's take a little longer because it's not as simple as you appear to think.

We'll all know, when the time is right and "the i's are dotted & the t's are crossed"!

If it wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious! He knows but he can't say! They exist but he hasn't seen them! Oh dear.

Luckily there's a 1 per cent chance of us landing at the Ricoh... So he can get out of it by saying "I told you there was a chance of the Ricoh -I have been proved right"

He asked for feedback, if he means that it needs to be clearer. No one wants a stadium outside of Coventry, but if it is on the edge like Ricoh, what's the problem?

Hence my question.

Really??? I'm sorry if this offends but are you really that stupid? that is one of the most ridiculous posts I have ever seen on here. Are you saying that plans exist or that they have been submitted? Bearing in mind that if they exist you would need to know the land you were planning on and seeing as they haven't actually bought anywhere yet I find this hard to believe. If they have been submitted then where have they been submitted because we would have heard by now?

Neither you or I have seen the Loch Ness monster but I would never be gullible enough to assure you that it exists.

Like I said before. If you respected confidentiality you wouldn't be bringing the subject up in the first place.

You're a troll and not a very good one.

1 year into a 3 years build. all we have seen is a pic of a stadium.

I'm keen to hear about these "good reasons"

I couldn't care less about being proved right or wrong, would just prefer us to be playing in Coventry.

The sooner the better! PUSB!

Basically you know nothing and have delusions of grandeur. I am fooking sick of the shit you spout without anything to back it up.

Are you actually a Sky Blue or just trying to big yourself up.

As you well know, you don't submit plans until the land has been purchased.

I'm sure you will hear, probably about the same time as me!

Please don't make things up and try and put words in my mouth.

What on earth are you on about? What words am I trying to put in your mouth?

After the one and only thing we have been shown on Legoland back in December and everyone rightly claimed it means nothing, you came out and proudly stated that we would see firm plans in a matter of weeks. That was fucking months ago and still nothing. Surprised you haven't come back with a Laboism and say you were misquoted.

Saying I will hear the same time as you implies that you know as much as anyone else and that is sod all yet you come out with bollocks like "for confidentiality reasons I cannot say but it is happening". I'm sorry but in your case you bring all the shit you get upon yourself.

So it is not me making things up and putting anything in your mouth (something Weeman can forget about too now he is tying the knot :D) but you tripping yourself up with bullshit after bullshit.

Well I was at the meeting with Joy and co last week. She said they would never return to the Ricoh Fisher said maybe labovich slagged everyone off They can't agree on anything.
They said there were 3 sites but one is the preferred site..They are Not sure if they would get planning permission so it will be years before it is even started to build it>
The only thing they agree on is that the club could be dead before they move into their new home, but are willing to take the risk.

They realise that they have made a dogs dinner of it and are trying to make amends. Joy comes across as a very determined women and it is hard not to believe her shame she had clowns running it for her in the beginning things may have been different now.
They know that they are not liked or trusted and do not know why the council pulled the plug on them owning half of the Ricoh? she thinks it maybe that the council believe they can run it better then they actually can.

How did the Council pull the plug on them owning half of the Ricoh? I'm not aware that half the Ricoh has ever been for sale.

Half of ACL was for sale, but again how did the Council pull the plug?

It begs the question why she lets Labovitch prowl around insulting just about everybody mind you!
