How did the Council pull the plug on them owning half of the Ricoh? I'm not aware that half the Ricoh has ever been for sale.
Half of ACL was for sale, but again how did the Council pull the plug?

It begs the question why she lets Labovitch prowl around insulting just about everybody mind you!
Why do you think it won't be built?
Give us a place where it will be built and a date when building work will begin. Could you answer the question will the stadium be built before HS2 is finished?
Because the council have a controlling Vito so can put a stop to Higgs selling there half, and no it was half of the arena as I understood it.
They wanted to take over 50% and then bring in AIG to run it and make the Arena the premier concert venue in the country, unlike some of the posters on here they all agreed that the Ricoh is well in the top ten when it comes to stadiums, yet they want to build one that is among the bottom of ten of modern stadia.

You're the only person who seems to think half of the Arena is for sale, so unless every one else is wrong, then I'm afraid you are.
Even if they owned half of the arena (which will never ever happen), it wouldn't mean they could bring AIG in as ACL hold the lease.
Just because they have a veto doesn't mean they pulled the plug does it. They didn't use the veto, no has suggested they did, they didn't pull the plug.
Although no one really thinks a new stadium will be built... if one was built why on earth would you boycott it??
He asked for feedback, if he means that it needs to be clearer. No one wants a stadium outside of Coventry, but if it is on the edge like Ricoh, what's the problem?
Hence my question.
They realise that they have made a dogs dinner of it and are trying to make amends. Joy comes across as a very determined women and it is hard not to believe her shame she had clowns running it for her in the beginning things may have been different now.
They know that they are not liked or trusted and do not know why the council pulled the plug on them owning half of the Ricoh? she thinks it maybe that the council believe they can run it better then they actually can.
Re-reading it, probably best to avoid hypotheticals and just say:
Does kcic support a new stadium being built?
• No - our home is the Ricoh
I can assure you it's not 'bullshit' as you put it and their are very good reasons why but hey-ho, you go on believing what you beleive. I know what I know!
Still a 1% chance of returning to the Ricoh by the way but I don't personally think it will happen, however we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?
The issue with that, as has been gone over many times on here (with diagrams and everything!) is that no two people can agree on what constitutes "Coventry". So you're asking Michael to do the impossible. I think the point needs raising if he is to represent fans' views accurately that any move to anywhere even slightly contentious could result in some boycotting. It's yet another reason that the club needs to improve it's communication to fans and let us know where this mystery stadium is going to be.
Heard it all before mate, "Oh sorry, the last lot were awful weren't they? This is the best board I've ever seen at CCFC. Etc. Etc.". Actions speak louder than words and they've done nothing to show they understand the challenges facing the club and how to overcome them. You've already been pulled up on the myth that the council pulled the plug. I find it hilarious however that Joy seems to have seriously never considered that someone might just find her incompetent and untrustworthy. All the way through the JR docs the line is "Well of course the council made a bad decision, because we're awesome and would be way better". Again, talk is cheap. They have a mountain of distrust to overcome, with all stakeholders, if they don't accept the need for contrition, then we're no further along.
Just my opinion: when it comes down to brass tacks, I'm not wedded to the Ricoh, but I do want a club that is in where I see Coventry as (I use the major roads personally as boundaries, but as I said to Ian, there's no definitive answer). It's massively important that the fans are consulted and engaged on the location specifically and really should be part of the decision making process. Even if it's through some ridiculous guessing game where we are told key facts about the sites but not their locations (e.g. travel time) so we can give some input. It matters far more than the colour of the seats or whether the pies are made locally.
I'd like to see KCIC push this, especially as their name is Keep Cov In Cov, and it's probably more apt than any other cause/question at the moment.
Keep up the good work Michael. I think you're right about the majority opinion, and even some of the extremes aren't as extreme as they first appear. The way you've phrased it is IMO the closest I've seen to someone capturing the majority mood. Well done.
The same reason why people decide they want to go to Sixfields, choice. Or do you have a problem with free will?
The main problem about a return to the Ricoh is the long contract agreements.... I am guessing one way this could be sorted is if ACL entered Administration, Im guessing Compass could have the power to do this if they wished, IF ACLs bail out was deemed wrong....
One thing i dont understand is why cant a short term agreement be made to make sure the club is at the Ricoh, a rolling contract which gives SISU everything they get at Northampton (iv been told they get all income from there games!) and gets us back to Cov and we can start being a normal club again!
This gives SISU time to build (if they wish) a new stadium, OR it should allow the club to buy into what it needs at the Ricoh.
The problem is though, these long contracts, they seem unbreakable and if thats the case theres never going to be a way forward!

As I've said before - I don't think a new stadium is necessary, but the club does have to have financial control of the Ricoh as a whole.. which may well be achievable with a long term lease.
However the point I was trying to make is that if this can't be achieved, then I would take a new stadium that the club own over another crap rent deal like the one before. Now if this 'stadium' is within the area of Coventry (and I think about the boundaries in a similar way in terms of roads etc) then I can't see a justified reason to boycott it.
It seems an unnecessary and unhelpful stance to make, especially if it actually comes to fruition.
If no-one thinks it really will happen - don't need it in the FAQ in the first place.
I'm just wary of the club coming out with a fait accompli, designs submitted, land deal sorted, and it's somewhere a significant chunk don't see as Cov.
There's an argument to be made that the further away, the better, as it'd make a clean break so much easier to do...
You mean, the further from Cov as a larger chunk would boycott/see it as the end of CCFC?
I've said all along that the worst possible outcome is the club splits into two and both parts limp along.
I do. Easier to make a decision if it's in bloody Coleshill or Chelmsley Wood.
So if (yes yes, I know IF!) it happens, it either has to be Warwick Uni or somewhere else dead on the boundary, or so far away as to stop us all arguing!
(and yes, even then people would have different opinions on places 'close' to the boundary, Exhall, Ryton, Baginton etc... I'm yes to Baginton and Exhall, no to Ryton FWIW)
I know I'm a big data geek, but I'd still love to see the club put together a web app where fans could identify acceptable locations/areas. It'd be interesting anyway, but also would actually give them some legitimacy and not break secrecy.
My personal no is Bermuda Park, which I see as Nuneaton (probably mainly because the Nuneaton Odeon is there, but also because it's on the other side of the M6), but Warwick Uni I've always seen as part of Cov (probably because I grew up in that area). But looking out at say the west of Coventry and it gets very fuzzy for me.
