I’m sure MVE will be off this window ☹️ but, if he stays, I’m in the camp of those who think he and KKH could both cover for Tats. A specialist on the wing would be nice but tbh I think I’d rather spend the money on another striker.

Given that we are reportedly after Anass Zaroury I suspect Lampard disagrees with the above.

This window has been a little strange. There’s not been a solid offer for MVE. He’s been involved in all the pre season games. At the moment he looks like he’s staying more than leaving.

It’s mad that we probably have the two best right backs in the league.

The club probably though interest in MvE would come sooner and that is why the rest of the business is a bit slow.

I really hope he does stay but I fear the worst. There’s still a month until the window closes and as we all know there is often frenzied activity in the last 24-48 hours.

Exactly. Like lampard said recently some positions pick themselves due to lack of cover, others need to be competed

And you can tell Lampard doesn't think along the lines of you will be first choice and you will be second choice. That is for the players to decide and he expects them to keep battling to be the first choice.

To be honest if a player joining wanted to be guaranteed first team football, I think Frank's response would be why? Don't you think you are good enough? He will expect players to back their own ability and have the desire to play at the highest level possible.

The key to keeping a competitive squad happy, is to have a winning team on the pitch and a realistic possibility of promotion. Even if a player is on the bench, they are still involved in that success and that progress. They will get game time and opportunities. It is down to players to guarantee they start, not the manager.

If KKH is the better defensively, which I'm hoping for, then I can see them "platooning" as the yanks would say. One starting and the other coming on at 60mins depending on the game.

We’re not selling MVE, we wanted cover for him and we’ve got it, it’s a long season and we’ll need both of them plus they can both play further up on the right if anything happens to Saka

MVE will probably stay now we have good cover for him! Last season we burnt him out as we had no one else. MVE will be even better this year

Yeah he tweeted something yesterday referring to a 'minor setback'.
Sort of glad to hear that because I couldn't understand why Andrews would be preferred on the bench over KKH. OK, hoping he is over it by Saturday.

I'd like to see how MVE plays in front of KKH while they're both here and to rest Tats sometimes. His crossing seems to have improved this season and that might improve our defence on the right too. I think MVE might well be gone in January anyway if someone will just pay the asking price!
Good call, I'd like to see this too

One of the season MVE has gone up a gear this season is because KKH is a seriously good player. In fact, I’d go as far to say that we’ll probably see a KKH and MVE partnership down the right hand side at some point this season.

I think we’ll use KKH and Brau as mostly reserv wide forwards TBH assuming MvE and Dasilva stay fit. It’s a bit ramshackle but just about gives us cover across the front four. Will be interesting to see in Jan if we do go for a wide right player again like in summer or decide KKH and MvE and Saka can cover it between them.

Interesting that's he's brought Bidwell on in the last couple of games. JDS had a bit of a tough time defensively against Milwall and that was a shocking card he took yesterday for the late challenge. Also a poor cross that he put over the bar. The improvement has been good I think and he's a bit fatigued just now (and I don't think EMC was fully fit) but we will need more productivity and goals from the left side as the season goes forward. Brau needs time on the pitch to get up to speed and adjust to our league. I'm sure he'll get his chances.

We’ll definitely sign a winger in Jan, by all accounts we tried to close a deal before the end of the window.

KKH and Brau as back up wingers is not sustainable for the whole season. The subs we’ve made in recent games were appropriate when leading/drawing games. When we need to chase a goal, our subs aren’t what’s needed imo.

Won’t need it
