Very happy, top signing. Villa have established themselves as a top 6/7 side, fighting for the European spots for the last 3 years. Understandably the level they are looking at is higher but the vast majority of comments I've read about him from them are positive.

In a couple of years he'll be back in the PL, hopefully with us.

Good footballers have to be far more adaptable in the modern game. No longer are players seen as one trick ponies. For instance
Rudoni has been deployed as a wingback before now. During games if you watch other teams tactics there is a lot of rotation. I think it was Middlesbrough last year who played with a back four. But in possession it looked like they had a back three. A different player was coming out of the back four and pushing into their midfield giving them an extra man. It was difficult for us to cope with because of the rotation. The player pushing into their midfield kept changing.

He hasn’t left yet. I don’t see him as being converted to a right winger. I see it as an option. You need options in your squad. You could get through a season with one RB/RWB. Then again you could have four but through injuries you could still end up being down to one.

It’s a fact managers like players who can be adaptable in their squads. Plenty have said so in interviews and in books.

Also they are struggling with PSR aren’t they, so probably need to sell off some assets that they might otherwise want to keep.

We could call it sticky toffolo pudding

Easily.

If you want your full backs getting forward to support attacks and get crosses in then they'll be covering ridiculous amounts of ground at a high intensity. Just asking for muscle strains and tears, especially from Christmas onwards as the schedule becomes more crowded.

Having both of them allows rotation to prevent that fatigue, either in different games or sub one off for the other after an hour or so to maintain the intensity. Not about 1 being first choice and the other back up, it's both being rotation.

I do think MvE will leave, but it will be for financial reasons not because we can't fit them both in.

I agree. I think it was a miracle that MVE played virtually the whole of nearly every game for us last season.

If only Sheaf had that degree of stamina and resilience to injury.

Milan leaving is likely, but only if we get the right offer or he agitates for a move.
If Milan stays then we've added a fairly versatile player to an area where we lacked depth.

I thought he was outstanding at CBS for Preston amd relieved when he got injured. He was playing right back but was frequently in Coventry penalty area.

I was very impressed season before with Jack when playing for Huddersfield. Delighted at the time we bought him. Let's hope he is successful as Jack switching to City.

This is a quality signing.

I hope Milan stays but that might not happen.

Could defo do with another right back, albeit cover/competition for place (I've been thinking it for a while), as Lati just doesn't cut it there when called upon.

I just can't see MVE staying now, unfortunately and he deserves a good move financially/ambition wise due to being a fantastic servant with hardly any cover for 2 seasons.

Just to be clear, I mean even now we need another RB with the signing of KKH!

I pray Milan stays but if he does I wouldn't want to be up against the pace of them two down that right side, might witness a few players having a nervous breakdown at the CBS

No one wants to get rid of MVE, he’s been a reliable player for us since he’s joined.

It’s part and parcel that our selling point as a club is that we’ll develop players and won’t stand in the way of a player who can better themselves. With specific relation to MVE, if we can triple our money and strengthen 2-3 positions, we’ve done v well.

Unless KKH is being brought in as a LB (unlikely), I can’t see how the squad accommodates both MVE and KKH.

I'm not saying that people want him out. But I don't agree that having 2 good wingbacks means one simply must go that's all.

Theres a difference though. We have spend a combined 7-8 million on the pair. Neither will want to be 'back up'. Both played almost every game last season for their clubs. Something has to give here.

Agreed that we need depth at RB because MVE more or less played every minute in the last 2 seasons.

In relation to this signing, the transfer fee is too high for him to be a rotational player. He swept PNE’s award night and he’s statistically an identical player to MVE.

Particularly when MVE has been linked with moves away since Jan. If we make a healthy profit on him, we’d be stupid not to let him go now we’ve got a replacement through the door.

I take that on board and not saying your wrong. And he prob has been signed as a replacement as it sounds like mve is off to Fulham or somewhere

But I don't think it's a foregone conclusion either and I think we could make it work. Inzaghi us eof wingbacks is brilliant. Starts 2 and always subs them off for fresh legs at 70mins and then flips it for future games so all wingbacks play equal role. Love it if we could manage something similar

Depth is needed, but we also need players in quite a few positions so spending £3.5+ mil on a squad/rotational player just seems daft. If it was a free transfer or cheaper £1-2m signing, perhaps it’d be a more squad building signing.

KKH is a ‘marquee’ signing for his position. He’s been developing at a rapid pace and if he developed his attacking, he’d be a better RB than MVE comfortably.

You don't seem to be getting that when we say rotation we're basically saying two first choices. Both would still feature heavily pretty much every game. They would still have some of the highest minutes on the pitch. And that's before considering a player being out injured.

KKH won every award possible at Preston last year, he wouldn’t sign here without knowing he will be our first choice RB.

KKH played 51 games last year, Milan played 48. They don’t need to be rotated every game they are both worth of being a comfortable first choice right back at this level, or higher.

Fair point.
Seems like a cracking signing.
To win Player of the season, young player of the season AND player's player of the season, is pretty damn good.

I understand the concept… The notion is just fanciful, frankly. Why would MVE or KKH want their minutes limited and/or relegated to bit part players? They wouldn’t.

MVE is wanted by quite a lot of teams so the more likely reason we signed KKH is because we expect to sell MVE for a healthy profit.

If we signed a young 20 year old or something from L1 (for arguments sake), it would be a rotation option.

From the videos I have seen of him he certainly doesn't seem the type to spit his dummy out if things don't go his way. But at the same time he knows he is good enough to be in our 1st 11.

Wingback is the most demanding on the pitch. That is usually why they are subbed off. With today's benches you don't need to keep certain players on for 90 minutes. You rotate and use the squad. If that position is key to your tactics you need 4 decent wingbacks.
