Newcastle United fans organise anti-Mike Ashley protest march

Newcastle United supporters will renew their protests against the club's owner, Mike Ashley, by joining a march before Saturday's visit of Liverpool. It remains to be seen how many fans will attend the walk, which has been arranged by the Time 4 Change group and sanctioned by local authorities. Newcastle fans attending the fixture have also been encouraged to wave white handkerchiefs as the teams take the pitch before kick-off.
The protest's organisers believe leadership change at St James' Park is essential. "We have felt the utter frustration, like many other fans, at the way the club has been run by Mike Ashley," said Time 4 Change in a statement.
Ashley's reign has been overshadowed by a string of controversies which have upset supporters including the temporary re-naming of St James' Park, a lack of activity in the transfer market and Joe Kinnear's appointment as director of football.
Supporters are being asked to meet on the pedestrian area of Northumberland Road next to the City Hall at 10.30am, with the march to pass through the city centre, past St James' Park and finish at the bandstand in Leazes Park.
Chris McQuillan, a Time 4 Change spokesman, said: "If we could get 1,000-plus on the day that would be a massive success."
"Nobody expects Ashley to look at people marching past the stadium and simply run away. However, this will give us a platform and we can move on from there."

Poor Geordies ........

Watch them get 1000 on it, the media will be all over the "long suffering" fans.

Whilst out 7000 march was largely ignored by the national media.

Premier League v Low League only ever going to be one winner.
Out of interest, does anyone actually send stories of the ongoing protest/s and problems to any of the big nationals?

LOL, thats kind of sad, you would think anything anyone could do to raise awareness would be welcomed, especially given the crying the whinging and the hate that goes on.
The more people that do, the more aware they are, eventually someone might pick it up and help/support the fans to take a stand!

We did but SSN had other things scheduled and underestimated the amount that would be there. BBC and ITV turned up.
