It's based on the fact the highest ever ticket revenue was around £5.2 million - I can't remember if that is VAT inclusive but it's an accepted fact, well Astute seems to believe otherwise.

Pay ACL £1.2m, = £4m add the 6m sponsorship/ corporate revenue =£10m. Where has all that money gone. 10% of their income was spent on rent and if you say ACL are ripping them off what about the average rent for a house in coventry (£100) average wage £500 = 20%, i hope you keep banging the drum to get the house rents reduced in coventry, in fact the ricoh rent is not that bad at £400,000 it =5%

I support the football club - the rent is charged by a private company not a council quango. So what has house rent got to do with it?

I support the club so want the lowest rent -- cheapest price possible. I think your attempt at justification shows this forum where your "love" lies -- certainly not the Football Club - you'd rather they spend money to a private management company (remember nothing to do with the Council) then squad improvement,

They are the figures at the time.

Anyone will tell you 25% of revenue on rent leads to bankruptcy -- which it did twice.

The rent was never 25% of revenue get your facts right or stop unless you know it is lies in which case you will keep putting them in.

Getting worried your ACL propaganda is being questioned? 25% of ticket revenue - check it out.

Again you are trying to justify the stance of a body that is of no interest to you or benefit -- why?

As for other income streams -- somewhat restricted in Planet Coventry

No doubt someone will pipe up "buy the rights back" -- again irrelevant if your focus is 100% in support of the club.

We've paid enough thanks.

I am just showing a comparrision in this economic time that the rent is not the reason we are in this mess, all our troubles are caused by SISU

Total turnover, i.e. revenue, for the last year when accounts were filed for CCFC Ltd was £10.3m.

The total spent on wages and salaries was £10.4m and another £1m on interest (to SISU). On those figures, the club would still have been losing money even if they were paying no rent at all - which they weren't for the last year.

Claiming the rent was the sole, or even the main, reason for the club's bankruptcy is utter nonsense and for, so called, fans of CCFC to defend the owners by putting all the blame at the door of the council/ACL is ludicrous.

I think this just shows your ignorance of the truth !!!!
Because you allow and are happy with Sisu's Arvo's fees and interest which run into millions !!!!
Yes we paid over the top rent but at least we got a service for our money what do we get from Sisu Arvo?

The blame game can go on for ever.

The club was condemned due to a number of factors;

- Richardson and his folly of selling the previous stadium
- The fool mcginnity. If he had out the club into administration when no penalties existed we wouldn't have had assett stripping and the nonense arrangement we now have
- sisu are to blame mainly for their idiocy. Ranson did a selling job and they sanctioned his clueless venture and profligacy. Then they appointed Duleiu a man totally unfit for purpose who had previously demonstrated incompetence at Southampton. They have arrived at the scene when the damage is done.

Hedge funds are organisations which thrive on helpless institutions and take advantage. The irony is sisu didn't - they just appointed ranson, had 3 managers on the payroll at one time and a squad that exceeded any incline it could ever make.

No, it was the council who excercised ruthlessness. It struck a "deal" which have the club no hope. A 22,500 break even figure was a road to destruction. An agreement to pay a mortgage to allow an infant management company to be supported. The consequence for the club had been insolvency under a "friendly" regime and bankruptcy and virtual oblivion under another.

Other councils have given far better support to their football clubs.

The interesting thing on here is the justification of such actions. What I cannot fathom is the interest in the council or ACL. Why even debate the point? The fact is we are homeless and we will not be returning as tenants.

Me, well as I have always said my only interest is the club and actually watching again. Lets be clear, I could go to Sixfiekds. It costs noire to me but the while notion is absurd so I abstain.

However, make no mistake - the point scoring and defence of this council is misguided at best and will do nothing to return this club back home.

My stance is clear. I will back the club back regardless of consequence for any institution. Sadly there are many on here who don't share that belief. They'd prefer to stand on a hill 35 miles away, tubthump and defend the council and management company over a stadium that only existed for one reason - for Coventry City Football Club.

Thanks for posting Grendel, an interesting read with some good highlighted points. Most of it though seems got reason to be annoyed at SISU. You seem to suggest they backed an idea and let idiots run it. In my book they take the blame for that. One thing I hoped is they would bring some financial sense to the club. Actually maybe they have and it's geared up for them rather than the club.

You rightly point a finger at the previous regimes pre SISU. But again SISU took it on, it was obviously a mess but it's their business to buy failing companies isn't it. Sorry but after six years you can't keep blaming the previous owners, at least they published accounts.

What I really struggle with about SISU, is if it was all about unfair rent. Why didn't they explain to the fans fully, sell them a vision. Then take on the council? We might all be fully behind them.

Instead they move us to Sixfields, which isn't any better economically than paying rent at the Rico. Unless you are trying to distress ACL.

Should the council be more supportive? My own take is they have and have found it almost impossible to negotiate further with SISU. That has eroded their confidence about what SISU motives are and are those motives really benificial to the club?

I appreciate your honesty about an allegiance to the club. Unfortunately I have a bit of both. I support the football club but also live in Coventry so I don't want the council to take a battering either.

Again if SISU had ever made an offer we might have more reason to be sympathetic to them.

The difference for me is, with CCC and ACL I can see the decisions they have made and can understand why they made them. May not agree with but can understand.

With SISU I have no idea what they are doing and the little bits I am able to find out makes no sense. So I am not confident they are here for the benefit of the club we both love.

At the moment SISU are in charge. They have taken us away from Coventry and only they can bring us back. So currently I feel ACL and CCC are no longer involved, all that is history. The focus is fully on SISU. So they can keep the farce of renting outside the city. Get on with building a new stadium. Or indeed they could buy one that already exists in Coventry. A starting point might be at least make an offer.

Letrs keep this very simple;
SISU want 'some' return on their failed venture. They will do ANYTHING, repeat ANYTHING do achieve their goal that is within a whisker of someone going to prison.

They do not give two hoots about the club, fans, community, EVERYTHING! I lie, the only thing they care about is MONEY & would sell their granny of they had to.

SISU out! 130yrs history down the toilet you utter sumbags.

More facts you tend to ignore so that you can continue supporting a hedge fund instead of the team playing in Coventry !!!!

propping up ACL you say. Damn that Ricoh Areana is some energy efficiant, self maintaining building that cost Zero to run. i dont understand why all buildings and homes are made with the same technology.

the rent contributes to more than lining ACL pockets, as well you know but choose to ignore.

and before you go and say "so you admit ACL line their pockets from CCFC" of course they do, but that isn't the whole picture. plus, do you go to work for free?

then why are sh1tsu insisting on the freehold? or dont you mind them lining their pockets at the clubs expences, because we wont be there rent free, and anything they dont take as rent they will make up in the management fee's that dont seem to bother you even though they are more than any rent ever paid.

I think the fact that when we got relegated from the championship you maintained it was a team that should have easily stayed up if it was not for AT.

Yet yesterday you argued that the same team plus Westwood, Turner, Gunnerson, King, Juke,
Was a bottom 6 championship side.

Shows there is either a WUM inside you. Or your points are complete tosh and you change your argument for arguments sake, forgetting what you have previously said.

Again the offer was made in an administration meeting and could not be accepted -- this is widely acknowledged.

Is it £150k if the club are in The Championship and attracting 30,000 crowds?

If yes and they get full access to all match day revenues and also a share of non matchday revenue through part share ownership of the management company it is a good deal

Foolish semantics. The offer was made; but could not be rolled into the administration process. Therefore irrelevant, not illegal. Stop being so childish with your schoolgirlish rhetoric in this regard.

But with the offer made, it could have been picked up outside of the auspices of the administration process; but seemingly wasn't. Why? The logical conclusion being SISU had no interest in agreement at any price. Again why? Well, read the words of the original JR judge, repeated at the start of this thread.

To reiterate once again; this isn't about rentals, nor revenues. It is about one thing, and one thing only
