We spent a lot on the raffle and we won the best present ever!! King Ivan Ink Cap III.... if I gave that to my wife for Christmas my bags would be packed before Boxing Day

The lads came today, think I'm more excited than the lad will be when he comes home.

Not posted for a week after I signed straight out when Torchy dragged up old shit that was agreed to put behind us, clearly not. I still wish him well with his illness, would never want that on anyone after seeing others suffer, particularly when he has a young family. I don't expect to agree with him, we differ completely politically and I don't like most of what he posts, so I'm not going to be hypocritical and nice to him just because of the situation, but have offered an unreserved apology for the comment I made previously (one in five years) and do so again. I understood it had been accepted before but really would like to draw a line under it now.

Anyhow reason for logging in and the post on here ...

I'm still at work but my wife has just texted me to say the worst one ever.

My daughter was really excited about this and queued up for autographs - the players all laughing and talking with each other, not paying attention to the kids. She said only one actually took the time to speak with her. Not sure who will find out later.

So different from last year when she had loads of photos and they really made her feel special - I know we had more "heroes" for them then and things better on the pitch, but this just another a reflection of our current situation. I would complain but nobody is there to care. I might be wrong as she did get the usual birthday card, but I also thought she had received a Christmas card in previous years and not had one yet either. With things as caustic as they are, surely the club realises these kids are our lifeblood? I hope ours is an isolated incident and others have found them more personable and enjoyed their time with the players.

My lad (and me) had a great time. Sorry to hear your daughters experience Rob, but we had a totally different experience, the players were chatty with my little one and we got pics with all of them as well as thr autographs and even caught Slade on our way out. Thanks to Pat and the team, a great afternoon

All the players were friendly when spoken to, and happy to pose for photos, not many were chatty unless spoken to first, but I think you have to bear in mind most of them are pretty young and probably not used to making the same small talk for 2 hours in a cold hall.

It was all very well organised, well done and thanks to all involved.

Massive congratulations and thanks to Pat and her volunteers for yet again laying on a brilliant event for the kids. Their totally selfless attitude and warm hearted approach to the kids is inspirational. These kids are our future support and without them the club has no future with or without Fisher and SISU.

Sad to hear Rob's kids didn't enjoy it. Seems to have got a very positive response on social media.

We missed RS...already on our way back to Leicester. Yes players chatty when spoke to and happy for pics. Most are just kids and probably feel a bit awkward. Son had banter with Reid telling him he was very skilful but once he beat a man he needed to get in the box. Reid, with a huge smile on his face, said he would be working on that before the next game. Ricketts also talked to all around us as we passed. Also son spoke quite a bit with maycock and how it felt to start in team.

But joking apart, all the volunteers worked hard to make it a good day for kids. Cost me a fortune on tombola( he wanted players boots) lol
All players were chatty when spoken to and ALL seemed happy to pose for pictures from what I saw. My grandson (10) wouldn't speak to
any of them, when I said they were not that bad most of them laughed.

We cleaned up the other year on the Tombolla, boots, signed shirts and everything.

Didn't win anything this year Glad the money goes to the JSBS though as the way kids were going through the tickets there will be a fair few going cold turkey tonight.

He went shy and wouldn't ask him, so it will probably be left as one of life's little mysteries...

Pleased to see it was in the main a good event! Can assure you the volunteers will be grateful for the nice messages and will be read, or at least passed on!

Rob, sorry to hear your little one didn't enjoy it as much as others seem to. If you wanted to raise the issue, would suggest you email the JSB inbox with your views - jsb@ccfc.co.uk

Nick, as for Vlad'a hair, the last bloke we had who dyed their hair blonde and hoped to find better form was Thornton! Let's hope he's not his inspiration!!

Really good event. My 3 yr old has developed an infatuation with sky blue Sam! (May have been a result of the reindeer flick!

Crafts were excellent which the kids loved! Particularly my older one.

Players were friendly enough, one young lad who I didn't recognise was particularly engaging. Nice touch for slade to attend.

Well done to all involved.

Aside from the party, what was clear was the age and physical stature of our squad... you don't normally see them all sat together. Many of them very young and not physically developed yet.
It's no wonder were getting bullied out of games.
I've been one of those suggesting sordell central but having stood next to the fella he just isn't powerful enough IMO.

Some brutes required please mr Slade

60 mile trip well worth it for a very happy boy. And yes, he was addicted to the tombola too. I blame the luminous boots

Many thanks to all the organisers and volunteers. If anyone doubts the difference between SISU and CCFC, today is best example I can give.

And for the avoidance of doubt, my boy was singing 'we want SISU out' on the way

@Rob, judging by the time of your post, I think you just left too early. This year they did things the other way round; got the players sat down signing autographs first, then when all done, wandered around the sports hall taking part in the 20p games and happily chatting/posing for pics. Great to see Slade there too and was great to see him chatting not only to the fans but also the volunteers and posing for selfies with them.

I thought that about Sordell, stood next to him in the JSB zone and he isn't very big but when he plays he looks quite stocky.

Exactly. He does somehow. Maybe he wears a couple of shirts! It may just be by comparison to his team mates.

Stevenson for example literally looked like a child.
