Called this a while ago...
I love Thomas' endeavor, but he lacks the final pass or finish. Jodi Jones is a much better footballer. Thomas should have won it for us today, and in all fairness, that has been a recurring theme this whole season.....

Jones couldn’t score in league one either

I would put money on Jones if fit being far better than he was last time in league one. He really seemed to kick on in league two before his injury.

I think Thomas is the better player , and we will never truly know now as I doubt Jones will ever be the same player again

Thomas is far better defensively than Jones with his tracking back and tackling (saw a fair bit of it today). Think Thomas has been knackered the second half of the season with is fairly understandable with it being his first season in professional football and his work rate being so high.

I fear it could be the end for Jones. To come back from one ACL is bad enough, never mind coming back from 2 in 2 seasons. Players rarely come back the same after that.

Thomas could be whatever he wants to be if he could finish a move. Got an unbelievable work rate was surprised to see him taken off he still looked like the most likely to create something

Hard to judge tracking back etc yes thomas but a winger surely mainly judged on end product,I would put jones ahead of him regarding end product

I hope Jones can get back to the player he once was if he can he would definitely do a job in league one

Many a player have recovered from double ACL’s mate no reason he can’t still young enough time needs to be taken properly tho this time.

Jones will have a massive mental issue to overcome first before we see anything like the player he was, he has missed 2 seasons of learning also, but doubt he will be anywhere near our saviour for quite some time perhaps even ever, I guess the plus side of it we have saved a lot on his wages presuming we had adequate insurance on him

I’d like to see JJ in this set up, I do believe Thomas is a good player, but he lacks end of product.

Thomas should have scored twice this season and I do believe JJ would have at least scored one.

Stockdale commands the right wing just as as well as the six yard box. All problems will be resolved when Stockdale signs.

To me Thomas is a far better player. His scoring record in league 1 is better than Jones. His work rate is far higher and defensively he is far better. True Jones was doing well last season but it was one league below. Before that there was always questions over his finishing and decisions. Both are young and will no doubt improve assuming Jones recovers from his latest injury.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Thomas carried us as an attacking threat first half the season, is still an attacking threat, and covers well. He's been terrific for us this year.

I agree, just think Jones has shown more composure in and around the box. Whether or not he will return the same player or not is another matter.

this one is pretty simple to me & both sides have point... Thomas is the better overall player, defends better & maybe plays a better pass & Jones is the better finisher & scares defences (pre-injury anyway - I fear he might have lost some of that with this injury and who knows if he will get it back )

Thomas has been really good this year, so I don’t think it’s right the fans slate him now. He’s an exciting player in attack and has a really good work rate in defence and puts tackles in, his end product is lacking at times. But, at 19-20, being played on the right instead of his comfortable left wing, he’s done a good job for us. I think he’ll develop and learn to take more of the chances he gets and I believe he’ll be a good Championship winger at least.

As for Jones, it’s a difficult one, if he can recreate his form from L2, we’ve got a really good player. In my opinion, he looked good in his cameos before his injury. For now, I think we need to plan around him and sign wingers who are ready to start and make an impact right away. Hopefully Allassani can step up into the first team squad and Jones can focus on his rehab and make a full recovery. He’s young, and time is on his side to still become a really good player!

He's reliably unreliable though, you have to give him that.

To be fair to Thomas, he’s straight up apologised for today and all the other chances he’s missed over the season. I rate the humility that took.

Got to agree Jones only had a handful of good games is also heavily left footed but is unable to even partly control the ball with his right.
Has scored some super goals though.

No, just apologised on Twitter... I imagine a game like that is frustrating for him as well as us!

Scott Hogan did. He went from Brentford to Villa, now at Sheffield Utd, but I take your point, it’ll be tough for Jones.

Jody Jones is probably our most skillfull player, but McNulty did nothing last season until Jones got injured. Jones is tactically naive

Thomas is very limited at this level, and nowhere near ready to step up to the championship. Jones has far more talent, but less work rate, but it remains to be seen what effect 2 devasting injuries will have on his career.
In short, we need to recruit a right sided player in the summer.
I wouldn’t retain Thomas, even if he was offered to us.

A one legged blind man could score from there.
The fact that he couldn’t find the net, summed up our whole season.

Disagree, Jones has never shown himself to be on Thomas level for making himself opportunities

Very limited, Jesus you are clueless. For an 18 year old who had barely played first team football before he's been immense
