Almost as many mistakes as Westwood, If we could sign a young (mid 20's y.o) keeper with potential, would you put him as number 1?

we only signed 2 keepers last summer, and we have been splashing the cash on 3 players this pre season, yet NONE of them are goalkeepers

to be honest, i dont rate Murphy. i didnt rate Westwood. I know Westwood made occasional brilliant saves, but the amount of mistakes he made far outweighed the odd briliance. the lad who played against Reading on last home game in 2011, Michael Quirke seemed promising. Murphy seems too quick to run out and slate his defenders with his palms facing upwards, rather than concentrating on saving the shot. admittedly, the defence was generally poor, but Murphy is not a 99% reliable keeper

Didn't you know he's rubbish. So is Murphy. Bring back Rafael Nuzzo I say.

westwood more or less kept us up by himself the last season he played for us !!!!

Quirke has now signed for Coalville Town. If he has an agent he needs to sack him, he's an under 21 international for Ireland for christ's sake.

He made the odd error. As does every player but Westwoods were far from frequent and Murphy has definitely been more mistake-prone than Westwood ever was. Murphy isn't a bad keeper though and is first choice at the moment for a reason... He's better than Dunn!

Wait, so Westwood is crap? I've seen the whole 'Player XYZ leaves Coventry, fans say he is rubbish' routine before, but with Westwood? Wow. Unbelievable.

surely to some degree Murphy can take advantage of a similar excuse that some use for AT......... the team in front of him. Westwood never had to play with such a small or young or under funded squad. That puts more pressure on Murphy..... highlights any mistakes or weakness

Westwood was an exceptional talent but he like all players made mistakes. We were spoilt to have him. What we have now is a decent keeper in Murphy ..... comparing the two is a little skewed...... we all know Westwood was probably the better keeper but that is why he is now with Sunderland and Murphy is with us.

Westwood is one of our best players since relegation.

Murphy was one of our best players last season.

Goalkeepers at our level will always make mistakes every so often, otherwise they'd be playing in a top league.
