There was no sign of him on the video of pre season training on the CCFC website. Oggy was overseeing exercises with Dunn and Burge, but Murphy was nowhere to be seen...

He was one of our best players last season, hope I'm not reading too much in to this!

Incidentally, Keogh was in the video and looked to be enjoying himself :)

Murphy is an international, well third choice so will have a value and Dunne is from division 3 so shouldn't be out of place there. If there.s money to be made why not ?

Murphy isn't the best keeper we have ever had. He is no Westwood.

I am not his number one fan but he is more than capable in Div 3.

Although his performances at the start were poor to say the least, he vastly improved over the season and I would regard him as one of the best performers by the end. Very happy we've still got him.

Dunne was very average at northampton. If he was first choice next season forget it.

Will have to be when we sell Murphy, you seem to forget we are a third division team now.

Please explain why we have to sell him.

I rate murphy and my friend a fester fan says he is a great goalie, he did make some mistakes yes but second half of the season was imo very good he saved a lot of one on one's and kept us in a lot of games.

He surely is and as i stated the least of our worries when looking through or for a squad.

Murphy is one of the best at this level and he is a lot better than most we had in the championship.

Maybe then he is not up tp championship standard but can hold his own about league one, very average bottom tier player. Not up to any standard as oggy!hedman,Kirkland or blyth because there the players I am used to watching not the bunch of clowns that have been at the club the past 10 years

What not up the standard of players we had the Premier League? I wonder why?

Is he up to the standard of Dubek, Hyldergaard, Shearer etc. I think so.

Next you'll be telling me David Bell is no Tommy Hutchison.

I'm just had enough of watching poor players every week.i would like to be looking forward to this season but I can't excited about it,more poor sub standard football. It just so depressing what has happened to this club.

Was he at EURO2012? NO, so he is no longer 3rd choice! He's about as much of a regular as Stephen "experienced international" Elliott! Jesus there's been so much spin around this club it must have seeped into he blood of the fans..

It's Debec and Hyldgaard, but yes, Murph is better than them! I quite liked Hyldgaard in a way, but this tells you all you need to know-a classic CCFC youngster who played more here than for anyone else after he left here! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morten_Hyldgaard

I wonder how many of the present youngsters in our squad will have similar petering out careers? For most of them, this will be the highest level they ever play at.

murphy started poor and always likes he could make a clanger but he did improve alot and i think he will be in the top 5 keepers next year, that is a position we do not need to worry about imo

Murphy is a very good keeper at Champ and L1 level. I am more than happy with him in goal. The reason Cov fans don't rate him as highly is because we were spoilt with Westwood and never realised how good Westy actually was.

It probably didn't help when 70% of people on here were moronic enough to take his comments completely out of context last season.

My only problem with Murphy is he never seems to come for corners, he makes the odd mistake which is fare enough but he never comes for crosses. would be interested to know how many goals we conceded from corners/crosses last season

Agreed, he's a top 6 L1 'keeper at least, and we can't say that about many of our positions. Whatever his limitations, he's one of our best players now and an important senior figure in the dressing room. No, not in a Dublin way, fnar fnar..
