Jodi Jones… (1 Viewer)

I often wondered whether our resident ITK Betterdays just knew him very well or actually was him. Either way, very well informed at the time.

He wasn’t him. He must have had some connection through his medical procedures.

People were talking about players who went through two promotions with the club - jones actually is on that list

He made a brilliant cross for Godden equaliser (I think) at Huddersfield. Following game Robins praised Jones for "doing things others in club couldn't & he surprisingly barely featured after that.

Think despite injury set backs he was allowed to leave too early.

There was a spell where he was the only City player on the ball who actually gave some hope of creating attacking opportunities.
Let’s be honest he left at the right time, I concede he’s a much better player now tho

His assist on Monday was nearly a copy of his assist for Godden at Huddersfield. A player who would surely have played at a higher level.

What came across from his interview is that all his injury problems have meant he’s just delighted to be playing at all, and doesn’t care what level it is. That attitude is rare now and very refreshing.

Could be tbh - came on on 70 mins
He replaced Maatsen, but we were quite dominant by that stage and he pretty much playing a a winger.

Dacosta i was talking about right?
Dacosta started in the home match, looked terrified and was replaced by Rose at halftime. Barely played again.
He wasn't involved in the away match.

There was defintely one match v Forest where he put the most crosses in the world in

In the 20/21 season Dacosta played for a few minutes at the end of the game at the City Ground.
He played the 2nd half in the home match, putting in 8 crosses. But only 2 if them were accurate.

To be fair to Dacosta those stats are probably misleading. If I remember right a lot of the crosses he put in were dangerous ones, but I'm guessing if no one makes a run to get on the end of them as was most likely the case, then they are not recorded as accurate. Even so it was a false dawn as he was awful after that.

Stats being misleading? Well I never!

Yeah, you're right. I think crosses especially can be difficult to gauge. Sometimes you just need them to cause a bit of panic

And stats from one game don't tell you an awful lot. There was one game last season where Rudi was in double figures for crosses. I don't think any of them found a teammate. But we wouldn't call him shit.

He looked terrified of getting injured again in his final appearances with us. Think a fresh start and dropping down a few levels to rebuild confidence was what he needed. Oxford stint wasn't great though.

I thought it odd that he was allowed to go just when his fitness returned. This was the same squad that had Julian Dacosta and Todd Kane in it…
Agree he was probably outed before returning to full match sharpness

Baker was putting a load of crosses in and somebody went close with a Banger but we lost, Pitbull was that man.

How good could he have been without his injuries? No doubt where we were as a club, someone would have knocked him off us for a pittance, like Maddison.
Im not sure Maddison would've been interested in buying him in all honesty mate.
