Working from home means I tend to have the radio on in the background. When Jeremy Vine comes on Radio 2 however, it's time to change channels.

What is the point of his show? It's a mix of music and debate, and that's ridiculous, it's the tawdry musical of Radio 2 - does neither well. Radio 5 does better discussion shows, just about every other Radio 2 show does music better, even Vanessa Feltz!

Just do music, or talk show, don't try and combine the two. They're currently talking about Covid restrictions, and interspersing with jaunty pop songs - ridiculous!

Think that slot on R2 has been going for decades - back as far as Jimmy Young in the early 70s, predating R5. Should have got rid of it really now they have a whole station for that.

Niall Horan and Anne-Marie with a Fleetwood Mac cover.

Followed by:

"I know people are dying, people are supposed to die."

"I've lost my sister, I've lost everything."

"It looks like the illness can wreck another December doesn't it, but if you go on our website you can vote for your favourite George Michael song."

Lovely.

Even worse is the realisation that he earns £300k a year from the BBC for it. All he does is read out tweets!

Seems fitting that he replaced Matthew Wright for his show on channel 5. One weasel for another

I don't listen to his show, in fact I never listen to the radio at all these days, but every now and then I catch the start of his show on Channel 5 as it follows the kids programs my daughter watches and he does seem a bit of a knobhead.

He's a baiter.
Just tries or does actually try to generate angst, polarised viewpoints, then goes into a wokey, snowflakey routine oved what he's generated.
Worse than the sun newspaper.
Like you I turn over and have a couple of hours of absolute.
He can FO interloping onto Ken Bruce for ten minutes at 11-30.

Ken Bruce, now there's a proper DJ!
They could do with trying to lure Richard allinson back from Magic ,never understood why he was under utilised and mainly did cover for holidays or the overnight stuff.
He'd be a great replacement for Vine.

Do yourself a favour-Absolute radio or radio X 👍
Absolute Radio is a funny one because their whole thing is "no repeat guarantee" which is objectively a good thing but that is only for one day. The next day they play the exact same songs in a different order.

I can't count the number of times I've got in my car and heard the same REM song on there.

North Leics…...unfortunately
According to the Urban dictionary… which is my go to place when I’m trying be down with the kids. Jeremy is a name often given to a male with a large brain/penis….. so I think referring to Jeremy Vine as a knobhead or a dickhead is actually factually correct!!

Jeremy Bates.

It’s the best I could do. Sorry, we’re running out of Jeremys/Jeremies(?) and I wanted to be involved.

i remember the joke going around the playground (no doubt manufactured on the shop floor) "What's the latest thing in men's trousers"?
- "Jeremy Thorpe's hand".
Whats the latest thing in children's swimwear ?
Len Fairclough.

I also remember that he fled to Australia and the joke going round was that he'd "been found in Sydney!"
