0-0 draw with Gibraltar and a 4-0 loss to Slovakia, I suppose it can only get better..

I am not embarrassed to say that Dasilva was better than Bidwell at the start of the season. He was also far better than Bidwell when he came on against Manchester United and in some other matches.

Agree with you there, I thought that at the start of the season Dasilva was sharper and quicker than Bidwell and suited the back 5 better, but as the season developed and we went to a back 4, Bidwell clearly became the much stronger option. I think the issue with Dasilva is that he’s not defensively good enough to be a LB, not strong enough to be a midfielder and fight for the ball and not quick enough to be a winger. He’s sort of stuck in this situation where all he can play is LWB in a back 5. Another player that’s sort of a bit useless to us now.

Despite the memes Bidwell was shit at the start of the season and Dasilva was ahead of him on merit. Some people aren’t ready for that conversation though.

He barely played until the Stoke game where he came in and was very dependable. So unless you watched him train I'm not sure how you can deduce he was shit.

That would be in the four games he barely played in. People were asking why he was dropped then he’d come on and show why he was dropped.

He played a grand total of 80 minutes didn't he? Its a lot more difficult to come into games late and make an impact. As soon as he started matches he was clearly superior - its not even a debate.

He was shit each time he came on though. I think it was the Huddersfield game where he was only on for a few minutes and was beaten far too easily and Hudds equalised, the kind of goal that Dasilva gets utterly pilloried for.

Then Dasilva's form dipped, he was rightly dropped and Bidwell came in and did well. There is nothing wrong with this and saying Dasilva was better at the start doesn't mean Bidwell is shit.

Difference is thats a one off for bidwell where as DaSilva is often beaten. Our form start of the season was horrendous so DaSilva could have hardly been that great.

Dasilva isn't a Championship quality player. As soon as we bring in better or get promoted the likes of him, Lati, etc are guaranteed to get sacked off.

Dasilva is definitely a championship quality player , problem is I don't think he's best suited to a back 4 and would be much better in a wing back system

Unless we go back to having wing backs then he's practically surplus to requirements here. He's nowhere near good enough if we're to challenge for top 6.

I guess it depends how he's used , I generally wasn't too impressed over much of the season but his cameos from February onwards he played generally pretty well , his delivery is pretty good and his intricate link up play with o'hare helped get us up the pitch

The " won't challenge for top 6" argument doesn't hinge on jay dasilva

Our fans don't really understand what it takes to reach the top 6 when we did it playing jamie allen and matty godden .. and all season they said we wouldn't with those players

JDS does have a role to play next season. For possession based games where we expect to dominate the ball, he’ll be useful.

We know he’s poor defensively, as is his positioning, but he’s technically very good on the ball. He can play a part next season.

Bidwell didn't start vs Leicester. Not often I agree with Grendel but he's right.

I think you're speaking about JDS when I'm talking about Bidwell - which is what I think Grendel was getting as well.

Wow that was quick. Nice to get the business started early.

The stick I got when I suggested Robins wanted a more attacking alternative to Bidwell

Nothing in my statement is incorrect.

Genuine question, do you have time to think of anything else with your mind so utterly occupied by both me and Jay Dasilva?

What I find very strange is your desperation to defend Dasilva in any way when he was a terrible signing and is dogshit

What I find very strange is your desperation to drag up people's posts from years ago and spend your time being a bellend online but hey ho.

Why would anyone defend Dasilva, when Dasilva can't even defend himself.

Unless we pay him off or can loan him out we are stuck with him, no one is taking him off our hands when he has 2 1/2 years left on his deal
