If that’s our business for the window concluded, what would you rate it out of 10?
5 or 6?

Coming into the window, the majority were saying that we needed 4 or 5 new players to add depth and make a difference.

A great run of form has meant that we're all now happy with Grimes (which is a great signing by the way).

But if we have a couple of injuries or a couple of players form tails off, we're still a little light in options.

If things stay as they are I.e. no senior players leaving and no more incoming then, I think this will have been a good window for us.

I had thought that we could lose at least one senior player and only get a couple of kids in on loan.

Getting Grimes is excellent business for us.

😊

Rumours of Doug's wallet's demise have been greatly exaggerated
‘Haha yeah got heavier pockets than Jak Hickman on Jupiter’

‘But nah seriously if nobody buys Vik my legs are getting broken’

Think it has been a 7/10 window.

Positive is that Grimes looks like a great buy and we haven’t lost anyone

Lack of depth on our right hand side stopping it from being a great window. We’re a freak injury to MvE from having no RB and if we go back to 4-3-3 we only have Sakamoto as a natural RW

EMC is much much better on the left than right

Most of his games at RW were for Barnet which explains the lack of data on his assists.

He’s developed into a much more rounded player at Peterborough where he was used mostly at LW. Looking at his attributes, I can’t see why he couldn’t make a fantastic RW for us.

He’s right footed and like to cross with that foot, can take a player on and finds himself at the far post to notch in goals.

It’s worth trying Wright and EMC on the wings when they’re both back and I genuinely think those two and Simms in the box would be menacing for any team in this league.

There’s no glaring holes in our squad now. Could argue another RB/RWB but I like Eccles there. I think Raphael will be good enough cover on the right wing if we go back to that formation.

Not ranking the window yet. Deadly Doug to pull a late rabbit out of the hat and make it a 10.

A lot of people are writing EMC off as an option on the right due to his cameos there at the start of this season, could be different now.

I remember the last day of the January window last year. Wasted my time staying up late for nothing. Not holding my breathe this year as a result

It’s amazing that football fans can make a judgement on a player based on a timeframe little over than an episode of Game of Thrones.

It’s like Haji Wright ‘can’t play upfront’ when him playing LW last season was the outlier for his career. Take your pick; EMC ‘can’t play’ RW, Rudoni ‘can’t play’ AM and BTA ‘can’t play’ football… 😂

How many times do the usual suspect have to U-turn on their opinions after 6 months?

We got EMC late tbf, was annoying he didn't come in for that season but it was a big money signing. No one on here caught wind until very late, when @Saddlebrains told us we were signing Ricky Jade Jones.

Hahaha yeah I remember that

'Young Peterborough player, double barreled surname, all but done' was the message

Heres me not checking they had 2 😂

Amazing the number of City fans who continue to engage with that Gyokeres account when it's a) clearly not him and b) making a joke that hinges on us being an undesirable place to sign. It's not even the first time it's made that same joke!

The real Gyokeres messaged me directly on Facebook. Told me all he needed before he can come back to Coventry was my bank account details and 4 digit pin number.

He's coming home guys x

Be nice if we got one or two more in

Money talks and Sunderland are throwing it around

They sense they have a shot at promotion so you can’t blame them. However, it could end badly for them like it did for Hull.

Then again, Hull’s transfers last Jan was their last throw of the dice.

Sounds like Everton have agreed a fee for Tom Fellows from West Brom also. Be a few unhappy natives in the Black Country I suspect.
