What’s odd is all the players we’ve been linked with are all in an array of different positions, there doesn’t seem to be any consistency with a particular position we really want

We don't really know who we have been in for. Prior to today Grimes had been kept very quiet.

Mad one I know. But maybe we are looking at a few different positions at the same time.

As a whole FL seems to be looking to fill positions which we have all pointed out since August that we have gaps. Right sided player can cover MVE and Sakamoto, LB, CB, DM. So don't think Grimes would mean Schlupp is dead in the water

I would say so. Lots of reports we can’t match the wages he wants and that was about a week ago so I’d assume it’s dead and buried.
the only "report" to be fair was GIMOC and he says that about every transfer ;)

Really hope we can push this deal through. We have been crying out for experienced players all season, Grimes seems the perfect fit.

I'm way more into this type of signing than I was about Schlupp. Just felt like there was potential for us to over pay for someone that was on the downswing, mentally going from the Prem to a division below must be tricky one motivation wise. Far more comfortable with paying a big fee and competitive wages for someone who has proven their worth in this division consistently and we are probably better set to be competitive in the next few years than Swansea so he probably feels like this is a good project.

Don’t see schulpp and grimes, purely from cost.

think we may try for another wide right player and that might be it.

Burroughs and Eccles to back up Milan till summer, then we address RB x2 (Milan leaves) and new LB

I think 25 k a week at Championship level is a lot

that’s the cap for us. Only handful of ours are anywhere near that

compared to a lot of other teams, the cap is higher

That’s why we've signed majority of players from either abroad or league 1

bar newly promoted teams I would say our wage cap is low in comparison to most teams

Still needs to be sustainable, one player doesn't make a team so makes sense to spread it across the talent to me...
