Bristol City supporting mate say he is really good/decent prospect and that he'll be pissed off they've renewed Louis Carey's contract if they are letting him go. Sounds promising.

He's good I'm told - Keogh's going anyway so good deal for us.. rather that than let SISU take all the money from Keogh and just get in another freebie - we wouldn't be able to get Wilson any other way

I also think that the general football public aren't fully aware of our financial constraints. They just assume that the club doesn't spend money out of choice, I remember previews for last season where some seemed perplexed that we hadn't attempted to strengthen our squad.

I'd prefer Wilson+cash over Earnshaw+cash for the following reasons:
a) Earnshaw's legs are shot so I'm told and unless you present him an opportunity on a plate, he isn't very mobile these days;
b) Wilson is 23 years old, young and highly thought of at his current club;
c) Wilson is a defender so we would be replacing an outgoing defender with an incoming defender;
d) ROD, Cody, Elliot, Jeffers are all quie short strikers, I'd rather the next striker was a target man or had some presence about him;
e) Earnshaw would require more wages being used up than Wilson.

Bristol City are strapped for cash too, talk of possible admin. last season so they would have to wheel and deal like most. Talk of a million+ for Keogh would be beyond them so throw a player in to help.
I would much rather be in Cardiff City's shoes though and use that printing press they obviously have to generate money.

Wilson would be a good signing but he signed a 3 year contract last year. So he would cost money.
Only way he would come is with Keogh going to the other way, but I can't see Keogh signing for Bristol City anyway.

It makes sense as a part-ex for Keogh, but would much rather keep Keogh and risk losing him for free. Although relocating back to Bristol would suit him, as a playing move, it would be a step back to a place where he has mostly bad memories. If he moves again now or next Summer, he should be looking to a side who has serious promotion ambitions from The Championship. Bristol don't.
When he goes he'll follow Ransons money to Cardiff,seriously would love him to stay but just can't see it with the finances,if he stays it would mean putting money in or selling others ,who?
