Of course it’s nothing to do with him being ugly as fuck and uninteresting. Seen lots of films with overweight people as the romantic lead.

Jack Black is another ugly fucker but he got to play the romantic lead opposite Gwyneth Paltrow in Shallow Hal. Corden is just bitter!

Hitch was another film with a Chubby romantic lead (if you exclude Will Smith), Marlon Brando was a right size from the 70’s and wasn’t exactly athletic before that and was a lead in many romance films. Of course he unlike James Corden could act a bit also.
