So that impressive football that we were playing for the first half of last season was pure luck? There's no pleasing some people!

Searingly honest, that's TM.

Honest maybe, but TM has been in management a while, he would know that regardless of the real situation, he has to portray a professional image for his employer. So dropping a bomb like Juggy suggests would be a major no-no. While I have no doubt that TM may have spoken with Juggy, my guess would be that he's said something akin to "it's going to be tougher than anticipated" which can easily be reworded into a statement like the one Juggy has made. Besides, if Juggy was told this "in confidence", his willingness to air those private views on social and local media would have ended any further comments from management yet he keeps on with these tit-bits.

This.

Probably was something throw away when asked how recruitment is going like "well it's been tougher than we initially imagined it would be"

Which then ended up on the radio as the situation at the club "is worse than you could possibly imagine".

The end game has apparently been around the corner for the last 4 or 5 years. It's not going to happen anytime soon.

Probably just doing the minimum in running a football club.
Never going up, unlucky if we go down.

I fear you may be right. They just don't look like they are going anywhere though do they.

Now this is just putting it out there, but now that Wasps have nabbed the Ricoh and become much higher profile and with their aim to be the best and biggest in Europe, does that not make them a more desirable prospect for takeover?

Might just be fantasy talk I know, but I just wondered if a buyer out there would try and snap up Wasps and take us with them.

I doubt it rugby doesn't have the same global appeal or financial rewards as say the PL.

So why would that stop someone putting both clubs under one umbrella, I woul have thought
A PL football club and a PL rugby club in a purpose built stadium with casino, conference
facilities, hotels, car parking and land , 250 year lease,
Why would nobody want that.

With the set up and facilities any investor would come in with the ambition to get us to the PL

Juggy needs to get on CWR again and either verify or deny his statement. He's sure to be reading these posts, so what is it. Truthful quote, expanded or misinterpreted comment from TM or just BS?

TM could be loyal and doesn't want to be deemed a failure by walking away. He has often spoken about the potential our club has, so maybe he still feels he can do something here. I think the Venus comment was Juggys opinion more than what TM said, that he thinks Venus is on the board to keep Mowbray in the loop.

Sorry can't see it happening, you've got the bond issue, you've got the fact money is all tied up in thr rugby club and still making losses, you've got a football club with millions of debt and would take £50-60m just to have an unguaranteed punt on getting to the PL. Football clubs lose too much money, unless you get a Chinese/Russian billionaire they would have the cash required.

Its not going to happen.

He said mowbray told him personally no matter how bad he thinks it is (this is to juggy also), it's worse.

Mowbray then proceeds to go in for a defender who was on at least 20k a week last season.

How is that for logic?

I'm not so sure!
Lots of investors out there with money, for all their dept I don't think it would take a ridiculous
offer for SISU to walk away, we have seen it happen at numerous other clubs, why so hard
To imagine it happening to us.

Cheers Nick ,
What did he say about MV , seems to be some inference that he was less than complementary.

How many have you seen buy a football club, rugby club and stadium in the situation you've described?

OSBs already outlined a number of times why it makes not business sense for wasps to buy us, why does it make sense for someone new to come in and buy the job lot? And "if we get to the PL...." isnt really a reason. Buying all three is overly complicated, there's not even a comparison out their to say it works. Very risky, more so than buying a football club on its own.

I've listened back to yesterday's phone in and this is what was said, word to word :

-" I spoke to TM at half-time of the first friendly match,
- I asked about what's going on behind the scenes,
- TM said, "however bad you think it is, it's worse than that, we are relying on goodwill, good-luck, other people's scraps and our contacts in the game"
- he's got Mark Venus on the board so he can keep his eyes on what's going on behind the scenes,
I asked him about Chris Anderson, he didn't say it in so many words but you could tell he weren't happy about him.
-this guy has not got 1 arm tied behind his back, he's got both hands behind his back
- i think if he goes we've had it "

Maybe it's time Mowbray stopped being a league one manager then? He should also probably stop looking at players who command high wages and wondering why they go to championship teams.

If anything, apart from getting people angry all that achieves is making mowbray look bad.

..... and some will try to protect Sisu and deny it !!
In reality if I had to put money on it I would say it's not going to plan.
