Give it a rest, as much as one side may be quick to jump the gun, the other can't be the same. We've still got a tiny squad which needs significant reinforcement.

Bit early for the thread perhaps, but those who were desperate to cash in very early showed they probably not best suited to careers in professions that require any sort of formal negotiations!

What more can the guy do , if you listen to Simms interview I think it's clear he's been told who else we're bringing in , DK played hardball with sporting and got us an unbelievable deal for a guy with 1 year left on his contract
He's already overseen the improvements at Ryton and the CBS
So no, I won't give over , I'm fuckin buzzin and will be buzzin for the new season

Still early, but if things carry on like this I may...MAY...tolerate the singing of the Doug King song.

There’s no evidence he played hardball no one knows what the fee is or was

Goes with territory being a City fan especially after our last owners but this just feels different

I think anyone coming in after SISU would do well out of the comparison.

Fabrizio Romano a well respected journalist has quoted €24m for Vik
The same journalist that said Sporting original was around €17m
I'd say holding out for the extra €7m is akin to playing hardball

Yeah, thats a fair comment.

A fair amount of decent signs from DK but our squad is far from complete. More needed.

One swallow does not make a summer or something like that?!

To be fair, the way it dragged on suggests he probably did play hardball. If the reported fee is close to being true, that's a really good deal, all things considered.

I mean the indications are that he's 'doug his heels in' (I'll get my coat) and not crumbled with the first offer which previous owners may have done.

There's plenty of press coverage on it.

There is absolutely no way Simms has signed for us without being told of the club's targets and plans for the future .
To doubt our new owner , and I get the caution , is just folly for me .
Honestly on here who thought we would sign Ellis Simms ?
