Its always Steve Bruce isn't it?

Ah well, good luck to Westy but honestly when Craig Gordon gets back (if he's not been sold) he should be Sunderlands number one.
Still feel its silly to be going this early in his career but all the best to him. If and when they come to us, i'll be clapping him before the match (all bets are off come the kick off).

Not a bad move but with all this chat about Gordon I think some don't realise how well Mignolet played when call upon. I just hope he gets some playing time that's all. Anyway, Good luck Westwood. Thanks for your service you'll never be forgotten.

Moving on we need to be quick and get the Joe Murphy deal finalised as well as that Northampton keeper if they are Thorn's targets as reported.

Good luck glad he's joined a premiership team far away and not Leicester.

It may sound like sour grapes but in all honesty he's not THAT good and 100% replaceable and i look forward to seeing Murphy next year PUSB!

Thank you, goodbye and good luck, KW. Now can we move on and get a replacement, please? Furthermore, please wait until a contract is signed before making any announcement.

Has he actually signed or just given them a verbal agreement?

All the best, Keiren. Even with your strangely-spelt first name.

If this is true then good luck KW, he deserves a chance in the prem, i for one think he's done nothing wrong in the way this has been handled.

This isn't reported anywhere else and it's in the daily star! Good luck to him if it's true though.

Bet that's the last anyone ever hears of Westwood. He'll disappear into the depths of obscurity just like Chris Kirkland's big move from here (when he went to Liverpool). Where is he now? Bye Keiran........ :pointlaugh:

Go on, give us a 'like'! We know it's for the pun, and not Marlon dying!

He's in the Premier League and has an England cap, two things that wouldn't have happened had he not left.

Like much of his career, that was hampered by injury. I can't speak for anyone else but I derive little pleasure from a talented player being injury-prone.

Gordon is out until October, so westwood will get his chance. If he performs then he will keep his place.

I say good luck, hope he does well.

Gordon's too injury prone and makes far too many elementary errors.

I think if Sunderland could have got half their 9 mill back he would have been gone long ago.

I think Westwood will surprise a few if he gets a good run in the team.

Best of luck to the lad anyway.

I'll be watching to see how he gets on as he was a good player for us, other than the public row with Aidy you never heard anything negative from the guy.

He might be worth putting in fantasy teams next season as he wont be valued highly, and will get good scores for saves made and penalty saves

He will be missed:(
People who say he is not that good do have sour grapes about his departure.
Murphy will be an adequate replacement at this level but has nothing on Westwood.

Has nothing to do with sour grapes..... is a good shot stopper but he has his faults..... just an honest opinion. If he goes he goes good luck to him, i dont feel he has done anything wrong in doing so. The club will survive perfectly well without him. There are plenty of keepers in the premiership better than him..... and i wouldnt have made him the best in the Championship last season either.

Just wish him and King would get on with it and do what they have to do. Entirely bored with it.

Name me a keeper that has no faults?
He didn't have his best year last season but that could have been put down to number a reasons. The previous seasons he has been the best keeper in the championship imo
