bamford playing the games he was fit for us the gap for us would be much bigger

him not signing was due to greed on kings part nothing else
He has scored 1 league goal in the 6 games since 1st Jan, and he was sent off in that game.

Am I reading this thread right we are in the middle a bad spell every team has them. I know it's a long one.We still have 15( 45 points) games to go a third of the season.Still sitting on top off the league. Todays game three quarters of the game,10 corners to none and another penalty not given. So many chances wasted. Please keep the faith things will change.
Enjoy the ride.

and december?

Who was the 1 goal against, and remind me how many goals as a team we scored against that particular team
He scored 4 in December, 1 against Stoke, 1 against Birmingham, and 2 against Wrexham which they lost.
I'm not disputing he would have been a good option, assuming FL would have played him, but we don't know how much he was asking for, my understanding is he's earning significantly more than any of our players.
Your posting history shows that you are very anti DK.

He's a troll mate , and not a very good one . He's spends all his waking hours on an online forum trying to provoke reactions . Sad really

Today showed that we won’t make it in the autos race.

This is not even a melodramatic post. The players don’t have the mentality, fight, passion to do this. Been evident for months.

If this is how they want to perform at home then there’s no chance for the rest of the season.

How on earth will these bunch of players be up for a battle with Boro?

Lampard you’re to blame as well as you’ve persisted with some nonsense tactics, formations even when we started the downward spiral. Don’t use injuries and fatigue as an excuse. You should have tightened us up over the last few months.

If you can’t beat Oxford who are awful at home in a promotion run in you don’t deserve anything. We don’t have any away form.

Too many so called big players picking up a wage for little return. No urgency, passion, creativity… nothing.

We won’t be going up through the autos and we haven’t a hells chance in winning any play off battles.

It’s a shame as this is the once in the blue moon chance to get out of this league. But it’s ending in a worrying style.
Brilliant post. Apparently you will be called a wanker.

Not a lack of effort today, but there was certainly a few players not wanting to take responsibility near the end there.

Woolfenden probably put in the best cross of the game but flapped it on two occasions when he could have had another go. Not intending to single him out, more as an example!
I thought he played well

Oh give it a fucking rest man, it's the beginning of February there is everything to play for.

Imagine being in the trenches with a flannel like you
I've been genuinely astounded by the mental fragility on here this season - both the impenetrable hubris when winning, and the utter head loss when losing.

I always thought my generation of avocado gobblers were the wetwipes, but turns out it's all the veteran football fans who simultaneously claim to be the last bastion of the stiff upper lip.

For me it’s just a frustration that we could be in a much better position than we are. Whilst I get we had a great start and over the course of the season to date I would take where we are, today was a bit of a reality check.

How can we expect to be promotion candidates and draw with relegation fodder at home!

I’m running out of excuses to justify our league position, an whilst I appreciate the result isn’t disastrous, I can’t help feeling we have been found out and are on a slippery slope downwards.

I'm a Boro fan, there's not a chance in hell that I'm even considering us as all home and hosed when there's plenty of opportunities remaining yet for it to blow up in our faces! Starting away at the Blades on monday which will be a tough old game, though it would be lovely to stick 2 fingers up to Wilder.

Learned from experience the hard way🤪
That's what Furlong said!🤣🤣

Unfortunately, whilst our owner has done some great things since buying our Club (none more so than acquiring the CBS), his lack of football understanding has resulted in us wasting a transfer window in the season where we had the best chance of PL promotion for a generation.

Mr King has allowed a weak recruitment team waste funds on average wingers (including one not even expected to feature this season) instead of addressing the clear need for a proper striker, a central defender and a capable left back.

He has gambled on employing a manager who will deliver despite the squad deficiencies - unfortunately that manager doesn’t appear to have a Plan B and instead of playing our new midfielder (at least for part of the game), deems it acceptable to keep going with Plan A despite the poor efforts in the previous two games.

I predict that Mr King has already experienced the highs of his ownership - in this kind of form, promotion is a forlorn hope which will inevitably be followed by a tough next season both psychologically and based on teamsuch as Birmingham and Wrexham investing, Sheffield United starting with Wilder, not to mention Notts Forest/West Ham coming down.

I hope I am wrong, but with the experience of the many disappointment of being a Coventry fan for 50 years, I bet I am not.

Mr King’s ill-timed “motivational” New Year message is highly likely to come back to haunt him - I am pretty confident he also won’t be charging £45 for a ticket if we are the Championship next season.
what a load of dribble

people have said every year for the last 4 years it’s our best ever chance of going up and will never get a chance like it

no one knew our team would perform like it did for the first half of the season, so to say he blew it by a shit transfer window is a bit silly really

It IS a melodramatic post. "Shame it's ended this way."

There's 15 games to go. Nothing has ended. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The notion that it’s not signing Bamford that has scuppered our season - when three of our strikers are currently joint sixth in the top scorer charts and have each outscored him - seems like more of a reaction to a bad game from Haji yesterday than serious analysis of why we’re currently struggling.

Bamford is injured though, and seems to have had a few injuries in recent seasons.

Going to miss 2 to 3 weeks, I'd have taken that in exchange for the 6 goals in 13 games he's scored.

It wouldn't have done any harm would it?
And Haji has had 2 or 3 good games in the last 3 months so it's hardly a reaction to 1 game.

AKA It's over.
And this is before Frank Onyeka has even kicked a ball?

Can we not even give him a chance to see if he solidifies the team, so we give less soft goals away.

If we can break down the ball in midfield, we can break down more counter attacks from the opposition. Got to help, surely?

We have just signed a player with international, Premier and Bundesliga experience and we're saying it's over before he has even pulled the shirt over his head?

It's a prediction based on reasonable and sustained evidence.

Yesterday was disappointing but it’s early February and there’s still plenty of time left this season. Talk of not even making the play-offs or the inevitable loss in the first round is way too premature.

Literally every week it’s a different case of “If only we’d signed [x]”, depending on who played badly in the last match.

Lampard has made seven outfield signings this season and as of today he hasn’t really managed to properly integrate a single one into the team.

4 arrived in Jan, 1 a couple of days ago and 1 has been playing regularly.

The only really strange one is KKH, no idea what's gone on there.

And none of that detracts from the fact that Bamford could well have been a useful addition who was actually in the door at the club.
