i dont get how anyone can not feel emotional hearing about the women and children being murdered.
I think its more the reaction in this thread. Is it because it's in the press more that people are emotional over this as opposed to kids in Sudan, for example?
Genuine question.
For as long as I can remember there's always been wars going on with kids being killed. I'm not saying it makes it ok it's just why now is it pray for Ukraine and gaza.

I think you are right though, it is in the media a lot more.
And it's fashionable. Two reasons. There’s a much longer ongoing support for Palestine anyway on the left here, and the info networks for Muslim people have been sharing an awful lot of stuff from what I gather as well as making it an issue in elections and the like, then you’ve got the fact it’s an ally doing the killing with weapons bought from the west. So it feels much more our problem.
I think its more the dismissive nature of the murder children as "adult" politicsFor comparison, I couldn't tell you about other wars ongoing like the Sudan one but after a quick search it's easy to see that it's absolutely brutal. .
It was the same with Ukraine.
And it's fashionable.
Fashionable because it’s got people tuned in and networks ready to go tho. Free Palestine has been a thing for a long time then you’ve got the whole Muslim angle. It’s not like a couple of influencers started it there’s just a significant portion of the country who care. Also we kind of made the two countries fighting so again sort of our thing.
Why are you hiding behind the likes of Starmer on this one? Are you afraid to share your own opinion?Name one western leader that would describe Israel as practicing genocide and will distance themselves from a strong ally.
It’s grown up politics. Not a petulant child spitting his dummy out.
It’s fair to say there’s an element of the left that’s zealously pro Palestine. As for me I see what’s happening in Gaza and what Israeli politicians are saying and it disgusts me. It should disgust anybody to be honest.Let's face it, people stood outside and banged pots together in lockdown because they wanted to be relevant and Sharon from Manchester put a Ukraine flag in her Facebook picture.
I'm not sure people standing in a park in Birmingham is going to make any difference. Like most things like that it's people wanting to enhance their own profile and boost their ego for "look what I did".
It kind of feels like you're saying that if someone doesn't understand the reasons for supporting a genocide, then they are not mature enough to understand the nuances of international politics. Personally, I think you can have an appreciation for diplomacy, and be against genocide.
Then they are on the wrong side of history. All major western governments will side with Israel
So what? Do you blindly go along with every consensus position held by Starmer, Macron etc?All major western governments will side with Israel
It’s grown up politics.

Keyboard warrior. You more of a Palestine Action fan, then?
Yeah can't wait for the Taliban away. You more of a Palestine Action fan, then?
London really is a crime free zone. Must congratulate Khan as that has gone unreported.
I mean it must be crime free if the Met have got time to arrest another 41 people for opposing genocide on top of the 29 they arrested last week.
Do you agree that people should be arrested for protesting?Should they be immune to arrest because they whack on a Palestine flag or something?
Do you agree that people should be arrested for protesting?
Answer the questionIf that was the case they all would have been?
It depends on the protest which is the obvious answerAnswer the question
So yes then, what a strange viewIt depends on the protest which is the obvious answer
If it’s peaceful nobody should be getting arrestedIt depends on the protest which is the obvious answer
Palestine action should be, they attacked and vandalised our military base.So yes then, what a strange view
Do you agree that people should be arrested for protesting?
If it’s peaceful nobody should be getting arrested
It was a general question, I haven't looked at the newsNo one is being arrested for protesting. If you have to make shit up you haven’t got a point.
So yes then, what a strange view
Does this extend to stuff like actively going after people using cannabis at home?If people have broken the law they should be arrested.
Does this extend to stuff like actively going after people using cannabis at home?
It sounds pretty draconian to me.
I take it you’ll be handing yourself into police then before your next visit to the cash machine.Yes. That’s the law FFS. I think both should be changed but you don’t get to just leave it cos it’s people roughly on the side of politics the govt is.
