Religion can be very divisive, I've met some great people deeply involved in charity work who are very strong believers in their faith but you also see lots of attempts to other people of different religion. A bloody minefield innit.

I used to think this, then I saw the amount of magical thinking modern atheists do when exposed to the Internet and now I'm thinking maybe having them believe they should be nice to people cos scary sky man is preferable to thinking they should storm the weather service and stop them controlling the clouds.

Too simplistic and simply can't be done. We live in a world of differences, which is necessary, too much uniformity creates single points of failure, too much variation creates tensions. Abolishing everything you find disagreeable only leads to intolerance.

It’s what some people said was their plan from the start. It was never really about the hostages, some of whom they have probably killed in the bombing and starvation of the region.

Arguments for religion remind me of my ex telling me she was getting a dog so her and the kids could go for walks when they're over her way. You could just go for walks! "Look at the good things people do based on their religion!". Could just do good things.

Murdering 12 year old boys for the crime of testifying against the massacre of paramedics.

Israel Fatally Shot 12-Year-Old Palestinian Boy Set to Testify Against IDF for Ambush on First Responders, Aid Workers

Israeli forces shot and killed a young boy who saw Major Nikolai Ashurov and his unit slaughter and bury 15 medical workers in the Gaza Strip in March.

Moment Israel's Eurovision singer is met with jeers by audience

Yuval Raphael saw her preview show interrupted yesterday by six pro-Palestinian demonstrators carrying flags.
www.dailymail.co.uk
Jeering a survivor of the Nova music attacks, should be fucking embarrassed of themselves as it’s hardly her fault what’s going on. Hopefully she wins it

You know, I don't think booing and waving flags at someone is quite as bad as starving and bombing children to death.

What she went through was undoubtedly horrific, and no right minded person would ever support it. However, what's going on in Gaza right now is even worse, as I'm sure you'd agree, no?

Israel needs to be treated as an international pariah until it is willing to stop the hideous genocide and ethnic cleansing taking place right now in Gaza.

It's ridiculous that any civilised nation is even doing business with Israel, let alone allowing them to take part in Eurovision.

I'd say that anyone who doesn't condemn Israel's actions in Gaza should be fucking embarrassed of themselves.

Yeah it’s worse nobody is saying it isn’t so stop trying to make it out like that, but what’s she got to do with it? Making her feel uncomfortable or unsafe after what she’s been though, them clowns should be ashamed

Now look at the wider picture. There's a feeling that the organisers of Eurovision are being highly hypocritical by banning Russia instantly for invading Ukraine but taking no action whatsoever against Israel for invading Gaza.

There's also accusations they receive preferential treatment, for example it was pretty clear last year that crowd noise had been dubbed in, WWE style, for the Israeli entry but not for anybody else.

On top of that Eurovision is supposed to have a strict rule that political songs are not allowed. Israels entry is titled October Rain, can you think of anything that might be referencing that could be deemed political?

Bottom line is there's been protests against Israeli entries for years, not sure why anyone would expect this year to be any different.

Unfortunately, she's chosen to represent her country at an event where many think Israel shouldn't be present. That's her choice.

Others will inevitably protest against it, that's their choice.

I wouldn't advocate violence against anyone, but I'm not too worried about her being uncomfortable (nor, apparently, is she).

To my mind if you're representing Israel at an international event, then you can probably expect people to protest about the genocide your country is committing.

If you don't like that, then you can choose to either not represent your country, or you can perhaps criticise what the Israeli government is doing if you think it is wrong.

So you’re admitting you want a girl singer being uncomfortable just because of where she is from? I guarantee the hecklers in the crowd will be making her feel uncomfortable. Poor comment that

What's poor is worrying more about one person's discomfort than tens if not hundreds of thousands of people being starved and bombed to death. I think you might want to reset your moral compass.

I would add that she's free not to take part if she's "uncomfortable". Are the children in Gaza free to avoid agonising, inhumane deaths?

Here you go again, nobody is saying that at all. Stop trying to make out a random performer representing her country is a terrible person and deserves to be ‘uncomfortable’ Not everybody from Isreal will agree with what’s going on

Who said she's a terrible person, she might be entirely lovely.

Unfortunately she's representing a country currently doing terrible things. If she doesn't agree with what's going on she's not said so, has she?

They will be booing the country rather than the individual. And being booed is small change compared to being bombed and starved.

So would you jeer a girl from China or Saudi Arabia as they have a flag that represents prejudice and atrocity?

They could of stopped all that if they'd of released the hostages.

Now as your a thick c**t and have trouble understanding basic English, let me just say that my comment in no way endorses the Israeli response.

If you don't get it, please go and ask a grown up to explain it to you.

I want them to be freed and I also want Israel to stop killing people. Benjamin Netanyahu can then be held to account for the war crimes he has been charged with by international courts.

Out of interest why does Israel also commit crimes in the West Bank where Hamas have no jurisdiction?
