Is our squad underestimated? (1 Viewer)

I have said this before too. But I say again because we had no Deagan, baker, McSheffrey, Cranie, McPake in the side and were able (by all accounts) to play good passing flowing football with purpose tonight.
We have in Biggi, Cyrus and Thomas 3 young un's that will attract attention becuase at this stage of their career they are bloody good!
I doubt Deagan, Baker or even McSheffrey will get back in easily?
Injury free I'd say we have a decent squad and anyone who still insist we are bankers for the drop needs their heads examining.
AT has a selection headache and that's a healthy place to be.
The only thing I would be wanting now is Cody given more match time, and a loanee of quality for the middle of the park who can make a difference (like a Dennis Wise figure) and we can really push on. As I have said before start slowly, build up some steady momentum and lets see where that takes us.
We need fear nobody in this league.

Yes

By some on here that think Thorn should be replaced

By anyone who thinks we are favourites to go down

Our squad is not that good. Not that bad either. We need a few more players to have a good squad. A few injuries in certain areas and we would be in trouble. We have some good players that are underestimated though. We could even have a few players that could go all the way to the top.

Mcsheffrey will walk back into this squad because he scores goals! The only other attacking player who is starting to do this consistently is Jukebox. Lack of goals from midfielders and strikers is arguably our biggest problem.

Lack of goals will kill us.

We are 6th from bottom and there is only one team that has scored less goals than we have.

Unless we start banging them in soon we will come a cropper.

we have a young squad who are average at the moment but have the potential to become good in a few years, we need something up front. I am hoping a fully fit cody can help but i do not think he is the messiah!

Deegan played last night didn't he? I heard he had Snodgrass in his pocket.

For the original question, my opinion is the squad's still light in depth. Our first XI is actually pretty good but a few injuries and you're playing a lot of the kids. Alright for a bit but not too long.

Another point is I think in the midfield it's vital Clingan and Deegan stay in there. It seems a bit of a different team with Deegs in.

Another point I saw last night. If you take the first 4 results of the season out the equation n(including Bury) we've only lost 2 in the last 9 games. Sure, we've also only won 2 but it does look like we're getting much harder to beat.

whilst we have a good defence we can afford to score less than the rest

if we cans core laods and keep intact the defence then hello playoffs! lol

Snodgrass ran the show last night for leeds.

Why is everyone saying were a good team? We show glimpses of good team but were not yet, a good team will play for more than 30 mins a game. If Leeds had took their chances last night in the first 55 mins then it would have been game over, luckily for us they didn’t and the commitment showed by the players was brilliant and certainly Thorn half time talk did the trick again but his pre match speech must be shockin.

I wouldn't say we're certain for the drop but I don't think we'll be clear of the relegation battle come March. As someone else has said, the problem with our squad is it's depth. A few injuries to key players and our starting 11 will become very inexperienced. I think we can forget loan signings as sisu aren't going to pay the wages of the players coming down from the prem.

Our First 11.... mid - lower half table team. Missing 2/3 squad players. Personally, I have said from start of the season we wont go down.

BOUNCEBACKABILITY!
The question was posed last week, "Why do the Sky Blues only play the second half of the game". well it seems a valid question to me, as the Sky Blues, raised the pace of the attack against leeds, just like they did against Forest a few games before.
Listening to the game on CWR,i t sounded as if we put Leeds on the rack, during an exciting second half, and that if the game had another ten minutes or so, to play, then the Sky blues may have well won it, as leeds started to crumble.
I feel this is a massive Boost to the manager, the players and the Magnificent traveling supporters, who out sung, leeds supporters all night, the volume of the Coventry support, Blotted out anything the Leeds fans had to offer,
"You were fantastic Lads" Just Awesome.
If we can turn in these levels of performance's on a regular Basis, there is no reason why we cant climb the table.
The thing that does concern me, is the January window, the performances of our young players can not be going unoticed by the bigger clubs, and with sisus reputation of snatching the hand off any Bidder that comes in, I have a genuine fear that we won't be able to keep them, and Andy Thorns Rebuilding will be Torn down Again.
Well Done Sky Blues, The Geezer with no Barnet, and the Fantastic Fans.

Tankie I share the same view about the January window. But we must live in hope and look at the present.
I hear what some of you say and yes Otis predictably negative slant to yours:) but we are beginning to show a breath of confidence throughout the team. You can smell it. Some results this season have been very good...the draw at Boro' when behind and last night. There have been a couple of bummers like Ipswich but we have played some very fancied teams and for the most part competed with them.
Football has fine margins between winning and losing and if we continue the way we are I can only see us getting better not worse wouldn't you say? That's what I hold onto. Yes Cody needs a run to see if he will be our goals answer and I quietly believe he is. It's not always about the West Ham's and co's with so called better players. Southampton are proving that wrong. It's about confidence like Blackpool had a couple of season's ago. No I'm not suggesting in any way we can go up or even make the play off's but I do think we may, just may have a better season than some of you might think if the current manager and squad are given time....

Sometimes one player can make a poor team an average team, and an average team a good team. Our problem is we need 2 or 3 players :D 1 to put the ball in the net and help Juke out. Then we need the midfield to join up with the strikers better. We could have the players needed in Thomas, Deegan and Bigi. Our youngsters are learning fast and Deegan is getting fitter. We will have to wait and see what happens. If we get a few players helping out with goals then this will help Juke and will not need a striker to help Juke as much.

Pretty much every season you say that we are definitely getting into the play-off, no ifs or maybes, definitely.

Pretty much every season we just(about) manage to stay up.

Couldn't you just say that we were crap and nailed on certainties for relegation for once?

Hopefully you could then continue your being wrong streak.
