You sound like those groups of children who screech ‘wacist, wacist, wacist’, at anybody who offers a different opinion on a subject which differs from theirs.

You used the term "behavourial traits of the guest population"

That's not about having a different opinion. It's about you using terminology which is at best xenophobic.

If you want to be taken seriously and not called racist then stop using the language of racists. It's not hard.

It being described as “Irish Riots” just makes it even better.

Again, you've decided that my pointing out the differing societal attitudes that can be part of the make up of elements of a non indigenous faction (See examples of 'Brits abroad', not necessarily the TV programme but personal experience) is based purely on racist views or at best, owing to a brief bout of fair mindedness on your part, the lesser charge of 'xenophobia'.
It's almost like you're imposing a form of censorship on the debate with your use of lazy labelling.
The reactions of some locals, in their extremity, was shocking. The need for some foreigners to indicate their nationalities by means of stickers on their doors/windows was genuinely saddening albeit probably a smart move in the short term.
The point I initially attempted to raise was concerning the volume of incidents (if at all) perpetrated by the communities of Non Northern Irish.
Was the alleged sexual assault the first incidence or had there been other issues prior and the latest was just a case of the straw breaking the camels back? I don't know. Maybe in the days to come more will be revealed.
It's fair to say that whilst rioting has been a 'go to' reaction in N.I. for nigh on sixty years, unless we're all happy to explain away the violence as being the result of a meth fuelled racist youth, there may just be the need for a little further inquiry?

I shall use whatever language I deem appropriate or acceptable, I rather like freedom of speech, even though this country has never really had such a thing.

and that freedom applies to people asking questions about that language. Not exactly wild to ask what was meant.

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson is up for 11 charges of sexual assault and indecency against a child. I take it that his former constituents will be on their way to torch his house.

Is it? So why is it just the homes of foreigners that get attacked after allegations of sexual assault instead of a high profile home grown one?

It’s pretty relevant. Sexual crimes are the preserve of ‘indigenous’ people as well as immigrants.

It is t relevant as I don’t think if sex offenders who are white and would be living on council estates would be given free passes as they are white.

It’s a built up of tension in an area and a catalyst that lit the fuse.

To suggest sex offenders who are white and indigenous would not experience vigilante violence is stupid.

I agree it’s not acceptable but the comparison totally misses why the violence erupted. It’s not the crime per se it’s the catalyst that started it

I can’t understand how 30% of our nation go well if we’d not allowed 14 year old Romanian boys in we wouldn’t have this problem of Muslims
Let’s go smash their houses or some houses that might have been used or may be used by people who’ve not been in the country long

I just don’t understand

I presume you mean the catalyst for anti immigration feeling in Northern Ireland was due to a couple of children from a Romanian gypsy household being charged with oral rape??

In what civilised country or world would that be the catalyst for setting fire to houses and rioting?

Well it does not seem an anti immigration feeling.

It seems that most people across various ethnic groups and religions were accepted into this small community. One section - so the local residents claimed - were involved in intimidation, petty theft and threats and intimidation. Then this happened and the fuse was lit.

I do actually wonder if most people on this forum have ever actually had real life experience at all. At best its cosy middle class suburban comfort. I am not concerned about immigration as it does not impact me. I do not live on a ghetto estate. I did when 18 and it would be beyond most peoples comprehension - and mine now.

Of course no one wants these reactions. Its easy to judge and sneer though while reading the Guardian on a comfy armchair and in a comfy home with Sky Sports in the background.

This is my view, most people who claim there are no immigration problems and are pro immigration are people who live in wealthy, white, middle class areas (see Lily Allen and Gary Lineker) who have never sat in a doctors queue for over an hour behind a long line of people that cant and wont even speak English.
To people living in the council estates that are now over run with Somalians, Ghanaians, Afghans. 15 years ago it was eastern Europeans that we were over run with (i lived across the street from a family of 8 Latvians whom I also worked with at P&H behind the village hotel. 4 lads and their wives/gfs in a 3 bed rented house. All working, all sending majority of their wages home to buy property to eventually move back home) but now we're over run with, mostly illegals, from the middle east. It definitely got worse once Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU and started to come over freely. And in this case it sounds like the trouble started with a couple of Bulgarian lads.

… or, if people’s legitimate concerns are ignored for long enough, it creates a tinderbox in your society and the chickens are come to roost, so to speak.

The electorate has elected government after government to cut net migration and this hasn’t happened. If these issues don’t get resolved via the ballot box, it can quickly descend into something more ugly and civilised.

It’s telling that the unionist and nationalist communities in Belfast held a unified protest last year on immigration.

It’s appalling what is going on. The political climate around immigration will get more toxic and violent if real steps aren’t taken to address the core issues.

Take the lesson from Denmark: if the electorate wants less immigration, give it them.

Would it make it any better if there was vigilante justice against Donaldson and his wife?

The data being released from the Home Office and across Europe (Sweden, Germany, Finland and Norway) is v uncomfortable. In short, if you have migration from areas that are not safe for Women such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria or Somalia (source: Women’s Peace and Security Index), you shouldn’t be surprised be surprised when there’s more violence and sexual assault towards women. Which is exactly what the aforementioned countries have found.

This has happened against the backdrop of the ‘Grooming Gangs’ scandal where the authorities at all levels refused to go after gangs because of fears over ‘community cohesion’. If there’s an inherent lack of trust that the authorities will police these issues properly and even handed, it makes ugly vigilante scenes like this more likely, unfortunately.

I don’t like it, but blaming Farage for every riot or Andrew Tate for all violence against women… you’re missing the point by miles.

And what happens if they get that?

Many services will collapse because there won't be people working in them. Anyone here getting older or have an elderly parent? I bet they'd be the first complaining about the shitshow that is social and elderly care and that would only get much, much worse.

It's not in Farage's interests to get immigration down (and reform's last manifesto pretty much backed this up) - it's his bogeyman - and when you get rid of that and the problems are still there, who do they blame then?
