You used the term "behavourial traits of the guest population"You sound like those groups of children who screech ‘wacist, wacist, wacist’, at anybody who offers a different opinion on a subject which differs from theirs.
It being described as “Irish Riots” just makes it even better.Quite ironic that descendants of jocks implanted into an area hundreds of years ago, during their own marching season, are accusing others of failing to integrate
If this isn’t a pro-republican post then this is gold.Of course there will be elements who will do shit for kicks but history has a legacy of the indigenous reacting to certain behavioural traits of some of the 'guest' population.
Apologies for not supplying figures but I think you get the gist.
Again, you've decided that my pointing out the differing societal attitudes that can be part of the make up of elements of a non indigenous faction (See examples of 'Brits abroad', not necessarily the TV programme but personal experience) is based purely on racist views or at best, owing to a brief bout of fair mindedness on your part, the lesser charge of 'xenophobia'.You used the term "behavourial traits of the guest population"
That's not about having a different opinion. It's about you using terminology which is at best xenophobic.
If you want to be taken seriously and not called racist then stop using the language of racists. It's not hard.
I shall use whatever language I deem appropriate or acceptable, I rather like freedom of speech, even though this country has never really had such a thing. You used the term "behavourial traits of the guest population"

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson is up for 11 charges of sexual assault and indecency against a child. I take it that his former constituents will be on their way to torch his house.Of course there will be elements who will do shit for kicks but history has a legacy of the indigenous reacting to certain behavioural traits of some of the 'guest' population.

Wow! What a childish retortSir Jeffrey Donaldson is up for 11 charges of sexual assault and indecency against a child. I take it that his former constituents will be on their way to torch his house.
Is it? So why is it just the homes of foreigners that get attacked after allegations of sexual assault instead of a high profile home grown one?Wow! What a childish retort

It’s pretty relevant. Sexual crimes are the preserve of ‘indigenous’ people as well as immigrants. It is a pretty strange response.

Wow really? It is t relevant as I don’t think if sex offenders who are white and would be living on council estates would be given free passes as they are white.
It’s a built up of tension in an area and a catalyst that lit the fuse.
To suggest sex offenders who are white and indigenous would not experience vigilante violence is stupid.
Wow really?
you accuse others of being naive or stupid I think you’ve nailed your flag there.
The violence is unacceptable if you start and end there it might be good
When was the last time such violence broke out?It is t relevant as I don’t think if sex offenders who are white and would be living on council estates would be given free passes as they are white.

By catalyst do you mean the xenophobic and racist tropes on line?I agree it’s not acceptable but the comparison totally misses why the violence erupted. It’s not the crime per se it’s the catalyst that started it
By catalyst do you mean the xenophobic and racist tropes on line?
I can’t understand how 30% of our nation go well if we’d not allowed 14 year old Romanian boys in we wouldn’t have this problem of MuslimsI mean the BBC reporters comments on it that I heard
Only to be attacked on the 12th of July by the nationalists for flying unionist colours 🫣Is this the one where foreign residents are having to put up Union flags to not get attacked?
I can’t understand how 30% of our nation go well if we’d not allowed 14 year old Romanian boys in we wouldn’t have this problem of Muslims
Let’s go smash their houses or some houses that might have been used or may be used by people who’ve not been in the country long
I just don’t understand
I presume you mean the catalyst for anti immigration feeling in Northern Ireland was due to a couple of children from a Romanian gypsy household being charged with oral rape??What does this even mean?
I presume you mean the catalyst for anti immigration feeling in Northern Ireland was due to a couple of children from a Romanian gypsy household being charged with oral rape??
In what civilised country or world would that be the catalyst for setting fire to houses and rioting?
Not sneering definitely judgingWell it does not seem an anti immigration feeling.
It seems that most people across various ethnic groups and religions were accepted into this small community. One section - so the local residents claimed - were involved in intimidation, petty theft and threats and intimidation. Then this happened and the fuse was lit.
I do actually wonder if most people on this forum have ever actually had real life experience at all. At best its cosy middle class suburban comfort. I am not concerned about immigration as it does not impact me. I do not live on a ghetto estate. I did when 18 and it would be beyond most peoples comprehension - and mine now.
Of course no one wants these reactions. Its easy to judge and sneer though while reading the Guardian on a comfy armchair and in a comfy home with Sky Sports in the background.
This is my view, most people who claim there are no immigration problems and are pro immigration are people who live in wealthy, white, middle class areas (see Lily Allen and Gary Lineker) who have never sat in a doctors queue for over an hour behind a long line of people that cant and wont even speak English.Well it does not seem an anti immigration feeling.

I thought they were Romanian? This is my view, most people who claim there are no immigration problems and are pro immigration are people who live in wealthy, white, middle class areas (see Lily Allen and Gary Lineker) who have never sat in a doctors queue for over an hour behind a long line of people that cant and wont even speak English.
To people living in the council estates that are now over run with Somalians, Ghanaians, Afghans. 15 years ago it was eastern Europeans that we were over run with (i lived across the street from a family of 8 Latvians whom I also worked with at P&H behind the village hotel. 4 lads and their wives/gfs in a 3 bed rented house. All working, all sending majority of their wages home to buy property to eventually move back home) but now we're over run with, mostly illegals, from the middle east. It definitely got worse once Bulgaria and Romania joined the EU and started to come over freely. And in this case it sounds like the trouble started with a couple of Bulgarian lads.

It’s as if stoking up hatred has real life consequences mmmmm who knew

And what happens if they get that?… or, if people’s legitimate concerns are ignored for long enough, it creates a tinderbox in your society and the chickens are come to roost, so to speak.
The electorate has elected government after government to cut net migration and this hasn’t happened. If these issues don’t get resolved via the ballot box, it can quickly descend into something more ugly and civilised.
It’s telling that the unionist and nationalist communities in Belfast held a unified protest last year on immigration.
It’s appalling what is going on. The political climate around immigration will get more toxic and violent if real steps aren’t taken to address the core issues.
Take the lesson from Denmark: if the electorate wants less immigration, give it them.

Ok so let’s excuse it then… or, if people’s legitimate concerns are ignored for long enough, it creates a tinderbox in your society and the chickens are come to roost, so to speak.
