Rudoni has started to believe his own hype and gotten a bit carried away with himself. Not enough press and harry and grit - too much showboat.
Yes. I've not been Eccles' biggest fan, but he is less 'complicated' with his distribution and play. Regrettably, Rudi is not quite the imposing and dominating midfield general he aspires to be IMO. He could be, but he needs to be a little less fussy with his play. I'd bench him for a while.

He needs to realise saka can play well and doesn’t need him to play right wing with him

Lots of tired looking players out there.

MVE, Torp, Saka, Rudi, EMC all looked fucking knackered.

We badly miss Thomas and Dasilva. Thomas is better than Wolf and also a big threat in the opposite box. Dasilva is pretty vital to the way we keep possession and build attacks, neither Brau or Bidwell are remotely capable of that.

Rudoni is a passenger at the moment and has been since his return. Fantastic player and he will find his form but at the moment he slows us down and is too predictable. We need the window to open so we can add some quality depth to the team.
I agree. He's a cracking player on his day but I think he's stepped up in his mind but sadly left the ball behind... Needs to get back to basics or to be given less free reign. Too many gaps being created when he's out of possession and that's been creeping in since his return.

Pretty much agree with everyone else. Rushworth was amazing…everyone else shite. They were also v good.

My son was surprised when I was saying Brau had to come off…tbf I think we’d played literally about 8 mins. In that time Brau had given the ball away 3 times and been caught out defensively twice.
In fairness he improved as the game went on…and then did that fucking ridiculous keepy-upy showboating thing that cost us a corner. School boy stuff. I imagine this will not have pleased Frank.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we never see him again.

Also won a lot of first contacts etc. did the basics well
EMC would be as well playing 2nd striker / pressing 8 with Haji left and Tats right with Sims central.

EMC is a right footed player playing left and a decent marker knows that a dangerous first cross (ie with left foot) is unlikely. In turn they pack central and press to stop the right footed cut and shoot. Ie. he’s still dangerous but would be far more dangerous rotating and switching wide / central with Haji left / switch central. Keep them guessing.

It sounds like I’m spouting bollox as usual as I haven’t described what mean Very well.

Rushworth 9 - one save world class
Van Ewijk 6 average
Woolfenden 6 bit unlucky,,worked hard against tough libe
Kitching 6 as above
Brau 2 awful
Grimes 5 they did their homework stopped him playing
Torp 6 average
Rudoni 5 needs benching
Sakamoto 6 ran a lot, got no change or luck
Wright 5 not as bad as some made out should've had a pen.
Mason-Clark 7 best outfield player, given a torrid time by cheats and officials but kept going

Eccles 5
Allen 5
Simms 5

fans annoyingly wanting Haji to press were irritating too, as Ipswich wanted him to jump so they could escape cheaply. At 0-0 I was happy to see us sit back.

Thought Lampard should've made changes earlier, if not thd personnel then at least the shape.

Some of the Brau ratings are wild.

He was awful. Not sure how far in to the game it was until he successfully completed a pass and as he seemed to be settling needlessly gave away a corner that lead to the 2nd goal

Given he was clearly under instruction not to venture forward we should have started Bidwell there.

Rushworth 8

Wolf 5
MVE. 5
Grimes 6
Torp 4

Wow Grimes 6!.thought he was a 4 at best.

Thought he was as bad as Torp and Rudoni.

Grines is out hos depth.

Theres a reason he wont ever play premier league level.

Grimes pefformamce are getting worse last few weeks is age and fatigue taking its toll.

Agree he was poor, disagree he was out of his depth.

What has happened is coaches realise how influential he is if he's allowed to play and teams recently have doubled up on him and done a number. That should mean we have a spare man and need to be smart enough to change that and play a different way, unfortunately we just keep doing the same.

He’s got no one showing in an 8 position and the front three are static back to goal and run in predictable channels

Didn’t have much support from his colleagues I thought.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he never starts another for us bar maybe the Stoke cup game.

The thing that cost us most last night was MVE getting caught repeatedly stranded upfield.
It happens quite a lot but Ipswich are quicker and brighter than most.
We should let Saka do his job more and get MVE to defend properly. Certainly against better teams. You get the feeling he doesn't particularly like defending though which is an issue.

I felt for Brau yesterday. Really tough match and he started badly and didn’t really improve. Distribution was woeful. Without jDS we don’t have a credible left back option.

And yet all the major threats were on MVEs side....

He's still right, and Braus juggling act in the corner ultimately lead to a goal.

And their left hand side had Clarke and later Philogene on it so it's going yo be their major threat against anyone.

To be fair Brau was up against the bloke who cost £20m?

Well it's certainly gonna be a threat if anyone's right sided defender is 50 yards up the pitch.

I didn't watch the game but there are replacements sat on the bench for MVE, Torp, Rudi and EMC (Simms and put Wright left) really.

Some of the stuff he did last night was just poor play. That juggling act that lead to the corner, just awful.

I do feel a bit sorry for him because that wasn't the game to throw him in to.

Sims 6

Someone needs to put him in front of a mirror to remind him he’s a 6ft 4 physical beast of a player and then pull his beard to get him fired up before he plays.
Now all I can see in my head, is a growling, evil-looking Simms at kick off, with large clumps of his beard missing.
