Rushworth 5

Let in 3 and distribution poor. Needs to shout at his defenders and let them know he’s going to get the ball. He’s a better keeper / shot stopper than Wilson. Wilson shouts. Wilson has a golden glove. Rushworth is a better stopper but needs to control his box. You all know I’m right.

JDS 7

I think he did well and intercepted plenty. Great bursts forward and attacking minded work.

Thomas 5

Playing too high. We need to have one back to cover and usually it’s MVE but somehow the formation change meant we were high and flat. Generally poor and was outpaced.

Kitching 5

Identical to above. Far too much back pass work.

MVE 6

Tried but needs to get the ball over and stop checking back.

KKH 4

Genuinely poor.

Grimes 5

I thought we’d got Sheaf back today. Too much backwards passing

Rudoni 6

Rusty

Eccles 5

Stupid booking meant he couldn’t put a foot in. Totally changed his game. Silly and more silly that Frank didn’t hook him on 45.

EMC 5

Too slow to get back onside changes our play. Generally poor and no use defensively

Simms 5

Worst game in a while. Didn’t press enough and gave them time to play out.

Subs

Too late.

Frank

Two keepers on the bench. Bamford scores again.

It's all well and good saying hook a player at half time, but when your bench is so very thin, it has to be a major factor in the decision making of why you haven't done so

Obviously much of the focus will be around the ref, but to be honest we were poor all round today, but having said that we didn't deserve to lose by 3, and their keeper kept them in it in the first half.

No one really stood out. So 6 all round.

I thought Eccles played well. Definitely the pick of the midfield 3.

Yes the booking was stupid, but he looked a threat, pressed well and linked play nicely.

I’ve a different take.

If you’ve a midfielder or defender on an early yellow you need to factor that they are going to have to pull out of some 50/50s

Drop Rudoni to the Eccles role, put Wright as a shadow striker or Andrews or whatever.

Or, knowing we keep getting caught flat on the break, go back 3 with Woolf or Lati sitting deep CDM. Eccles became a bit compromised with a silly booking.

Yes, I can understand that, but not when your bench is really thin, that always brings more caution

Pretty clear:

Rushworth needs to shout more and call for the ball.

He’s a better keeper than Wilson in terms of positioning and saving and so on.

One of the reasons Wilson got a golden glove is because he was good vocally not because he’s a brilliant technical keeper.

Rushworth needs to let his defensive line know when he’s coming for the ball

Which bit don’t you agree with?

Grimes had a poor game today but he was essentially in midfield on his own, Eccles was poor and got a stupid booking in fact I am not sure there was a standout player for us probably Da Silva but we really need to stop the goals going in every feckin week now this result had to happen at some point, its how we bounce back now

He loses a point for a silly booking. It was a bit immature and he had to play in a restricted fashion thereafter

Wheras rudoni put an effortless cross in because he didnt want the ball and was headed out up the pitch and they went and scored from the counter ?

He was dross today , no more than a 4

Both Lamps and Grimes said that was not a 3-0 and they are right. If you chase a game and don't score, always a chance of breakaways. Lots of our best players missing or not fit and the rest looking shagged out. We were the best team in the first half overall.
KKH out of position missed a sitter and was at fault for their first goal.
Absolutely nothing went for us today. Their goalie was MOM and the ref made a dreadful bottle for the second yellow.
Still waiting for someone to pin the defeat on JDS.

XG was 1.05 to 0.43 today, sounds like the sort of game either side could have nicked 1-0. Of course had they rightfully played with 10 men on the pitch for the majority of the game....

I'd like to see Ref's publicly have to explain their decisions afterwards if required by either manager

You are cherry picking. We had loads of shots that went close, were saved brilliantly or blocked. Not one rebound fell for us like their third did.
You push forward, they are going to have that space. We created chances in a packed penalty area.

Well for a start Wilson's manic shouting had nothing to do with his golden gloves award, it was due to us playing 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders.

When 7 out of your 10 outfield players are there to protect your goal its no suprise that you keep more clean sheets.

One occasion when the Keeper and Kitchen went for the same ball doesn't mean there is a fundamental floor.

Rushworth wasn't at fault for any of the goals we conceded today, we were caught out trying to over commit up front, and 3-0 isnt a true reflection of the game.

If you want to pinpoint reasons for this below par performance then there were many, but Rushworth wasn't one of them.

We've scored 50 goals already this season, but when your starting line up is missing Wright, BTA, and Torp that's more than half the teams firepower gone straight away. Add to that the absence of Sakamoto and the chances he creates, and you can see that we are going to be light upfront.
Once we went a goal behind (against the run of play) it was always going to be a struggle. But even then their keeper had to be alert to keep a clean sheet.

In short, no fault can be put on Rushworth.

And tbf Eccles did put it on a plate for Thomas to (not) score with a free kick from the left. Just annoyed at Eccles getting a silly booking and he’d deserve a higher mark otherwise.

Rishworth 5 looked shaky
Mve 6 too defensive
JDs 7 good on the ball
Kitching 6
Thomas 6
Grimes 6 needed to move the ball quicker
Eccles 6 ref hates him tired quickly
EMC 5 hopeless
Kkh 5 played like a youthy
Rudoni 5 poor
Simms 7 did well

how kkh plays further than mve baffles me, both need to go for it

too much keep ball today , 4 first teamers out it showed everything overplayed grimes slowed it down

Ipswich are crap let’s have it right, counter attack when at home but we were over confident today and ref was dreadful

Wright on left was a waste of time

His kicking was poor today.

One corner that led to another set play that resulted in the first goal could have been avoided had Rushworth shouted “leave” to Simms.

It’s a game of razor fine margins.

Rushworth is young for a keeper and isn't the finished article.

Rushworth has improved in his release of the ball since he first came. He needs to next improve his communication skills to his back line.

You know I’m right.
