Depends on the circumstances - I would rather go as far as we can in the cup in our current situation with some trips to the bigger names - getting promotion is obviously a target but in our circumstances is unrealistic with no ground and unsure of what type of budget we would have for the championship - I certainly would not like to be beaten 5-0 every week as there is a big jump from League 1 to Championship as Luton and Barnsley are finding out

Id taken being beaten 5-0 every week over mid table League One. If we played it sensibly we’d get a nice wedge of cash and come down ready to challenge again.

League please.

A potential big club big money draw
Vs
promotion and already being in the hat for a potential big club big money draw.

Anyone who says Cup needs their head testing. I'll never understand how this can even be a question unless the league was already decided.

Why? I would say cup. We need the money to assist in Loan/Purchase of goalscorer in January and strengthen the squad.. We are in a good position in the league. We have plenty of games left to pick up the points we need.
Obviously, in my heart I want us to win every game we play, but in respect of the ? I will go cup on this occasion.

with the fans staying away from St Andrews then the need for a good FA cup run and getting one of the Biggies is essential for Next years budget and what we are able to spend! otherwise it will decline and we will not be able to compete next year?

I obviously want to win both. As someone said I wouldn't be fond of a replay. In my head I'd probably take a win in the FA Cup and a draw in the league. However, they're not mutually exclusive at all. We have a whole season to pull back points in the league and Ipswich at home isn't one I would earmark as a win anyway, while the cup is do or die, plus the sadist in me is excited by the prospect of going to somewhere like Anfield and Season Ticket holders being given 6 each, and to watch the full blown melt down take place...

What this kind of question fails to address is the impact of the first game on the following one. I think we have a better chance of beating Ipswich in the league if we have already beaten them in the cup, so let's concentrate on the cup game and worry about the league game next week.

With on average 5,000 “home” fans at St Andrews, I wonder if we did get through the cup game against Ipswich and then drew Man City at St Andrews would the “home” end increase in numbers by many?

Wouldn’t they both be away ends?

Not if it's Harry.....

EDIT: Remembered he's only on loan there so if they sell him something incredibly dodgy has occurred!

The best chance we have on Wilson moving is Bournemouth get relegated and he forces a move.
