Can we as a club, refuse players being selected to play friendlies?

Can the players turn down selection?

Appreciate it's not a good look for the players to do so, but the sheer magnitude of what is at stake maybe understood by the International teams?

No you can't do that especially not before a world cup.

You have to do the Ryan Giggs special and get a minor calf injury or something to get out of it

Is this opinion or a written rule?

I guess clubs can't make the decision but a player could turn down selection?

I'm fairly sure the rules state that clubs are obliged to release players in an International window if they're called up.

Possibly EMC too. Think he's eligible for Jamaica and there was talk of a call up recently.

Jamaica also likely to play a second game given their first is against New Caledonia. Games are being played in Mexico.

Haji going to be a close call for getting back in time for the Derby game. Lati & possibly EMC could only get back the day before. Haji possibly same day as we play.

Always wondered how good the Japan team is and how close Sakamoto is to getting in the squad. He only has two appearances for them.
You'd think being a regular for the club at the top of the Championship would at least get him a look in?

Nigeria currently scheduled to play Iran & Jordan, which is interesting.

Outside chance they could actually replace DR Congo in the World Cup playoffs as FIFA are looking at the eligibility of some of the Congo players.

Off the top of my head Japan have Kubo, Doan, Minamino on the wings, all playing for top tier European clubs (Sociedad, Frankfurt, Monaco).

Not sure what their depth is like but I imagine he’s a little way off a call up.

Makes sense really when you look at the competition doesn't it?
Shame though, would love to see him at the World Cup

Just do what the Manchester clubs do when they have players called up, our players have niggling injuries.

JDS & Lati will definitely both go as their sides are in WC playoffs

BTA & Wright will definitely go as it’s their final chance to impress before the WC squad

I’d want Onyeka to pull out as they’re pointless games& no WC

Not sure about EMC - really hope he isn’t called up but he’s better than Demerai Gray
