As ex Stoke player Choupo-Moting scored the winner last night for PSG in the Champions League tie against Atalanta I’d thought you’d all like to know this interesting Stat linked to the FA CUP game against Stoke in 2018 when we won 2-1.

Line ups-
Coventry
13 O'Brien
2 Grimmer
4 Willis
12 Davies
3 Stokes
17 Maguire-Drew Sub for Stevenson at 63'mis
30 Bayliss
8 Doyle
26 Shipley Subs for Haynes at 90+1'min
9 Biamou
10 McNulty
Substitutes
1 Burge
15 Hyam
24 Haynes
28 Maycock
31 Stevenson
35 Finn
38 Ponticelli

Stoke
1 Butland
20 Cameron Substituted for Crouchat 52 'mins
6 Zouma
5 Wimmer
42 Edwards

14 Afellay
22 Shaqiri
24 Fletcher
25 Crouch
33 Grant

It meant If Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting plays in the next round, it will mean the relegated Stoke squad of 2017-18 had players who played in the 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019 & 2020 Champions League semi-finals.

2005 Johnson
2007 Crouch
2008 Fletcher
2009 Fletcher
2010 Bojan
2011 Fletcher
2013 Shaqiri
2015 Jese
2016 Jese

2020 Choupo-Moting

Out of our side only Bayliss, Hyam, Shipley and Biamou in Championship!

I feel like the word interesting is doing a lot of heavy lifting on this one but thanks for the effort.

You might want to drop the word 'interesting' from the title

Could be argued that this was the game where it all started for us and the catalyst for where we are now.

Christian Benteke is the only player in Premier League history to score on Halloween, Bonfire Night, Boxing Day, New Years Day and His own birthday

Not that it’s in anyway relevant - just thought it was a neat stat

Absolutely, I think that day finally showed our owners the potential of the club and since then their stance and style has improved greatly (not that it was difficult to be better than before tbf )

But tge checkatrade was the season before, we were still relegated and the squad overhauled. Stoke was January and we weren't pulling up trees in L2 at that time, as it was we only secured the last spot in the play offs but I just felt the momentum was building from Stoke and MK Dons cup games and a togetherness we carried through into the league.

Random Wembley factoid. Steve Guppy was the first player to win finals at both Wembleys. Wycombe and Leicester at the old venue and Stevenage Borough at the new place.

Very impressive. Well, it would be if it wasn't for the fact he's never scored on any other day. For about the last five seasons.

Was so chuffed to see Shaqiri bought down a cog that night by a rampant Coventry team - great night out
