Connor Thomas could be out for a 'while'.
Cyrus and herman to miss saturdays game!

From the CT

FOOTBALL is open for business
tomorrow with managers free
to draft in reinforcements
under the ‘emergency’ loan
scheme.
And Andy Thorn’s recruiting
priority in the final transfer
window remains a brace of
strikers, even though Coventry
City’s growing injury list has
left him short of options in
defence.
The three players who missed
Saturday’s 3-2 defeat against
Ipswich after picking up
midweek knocks at Blackpool –
full-backs Hermann
Hreidarsson and Cyrus Christie
and midfielder Conor Thomas –
are all set to miss this
weekend’s trip to Reading.
And although defenders
Nathan Cameron and Chris
Hussey and striker Cody
McDonald are getting back to
fitness it will be a while before
they are ready to rejoin the Sky
Blues’ battle for Championship
survival.
“We’re a little
bit thin at the
back just
now,”
admitted
Thorn, “and to
be honest we’ve conceded a
few goals that I wouldn’t
expect us to in recent games.
“But I still want to get a couple
of strikers on board because
you need goals to win games
and we don’t have that much
time to play with.”
Steve Waggott, the man
brought in to handle City’s
transfer business after Ken
Dulieu’s sudden departure,
confirmed last week that he
has been talking to ‘a number
of Premier League clubs’ about
strikers and hopes to have at
least one on board for the trip
to the Madejski Stadium.
Freddy Eastwood has been on
the bench for the last four
matches and although Roy
O’Donovan was sent off on
loan to Hibernian, McDonald
remains in the squad despite
an approach from
Bournemouth during the last
transfer window. He has yet to
display the form that made him
such a hit for Gillingham last
season, netting just once in 11
City appearances.
“Cody is back running,” said
Thorn, “so he will hopefully be
in full training before too long,
but we really need people who
can go in straight away.”
City called off a scheduled
reserve game against Wolves
yesterday, as much because of
their shortage of players as the
wintery conditions, and Thorn
has resigned himself to being
without Hreidarsson and
Thomas for a number of
weeks.
“Hermann is having another
scan on his dislocated
shoulder,” said Thorn, “but if
he’s feeling it you know that
it’s a nasty one.
“He really is an amazing man.
At Blackpool he came into the
dressing room saying ‘sorry
lads, that was my fault’ when
he’d been running up the pitch
trying to push his arm back into
its socket!
“Conor looks as though he
could be out for a while
because his injury is right at
the top of his groin and they
are always difficult to treat.
Cyrus isn’t as bad, but he was
in too much pain when he had
his fitness test on Saturday.”
Thorn, meanwhile, has clarified
his comments about City being
naive for conceding injury-time
winners to Blackpool and
Ipswich in the space of four
days.
“I’m proud of the way we kept
going on Saturday, kept putting
pressure on their goal,” he
said. “We all wanted to win the
game and when we got that
succession of corners it looked
as if we could. But we just got
caught up a little bit in the
euphoria – and when there’s
ten seconds to go you clear
your lines.
“The fact is that we could have
finished the week with six
points and we ended up with
nothing – and that’s really hard
to take.”

doenst make a jot of difference, he wont be fit, or will be suspended, or wont be mentally ready, or another excuse as to why he wont do what he's paid to do..

Anyone else notice the terrible journalism with the "and although Roy O’Donovan was sent off on loan to Hibernian" bit? Seeing as James McPake was sent off in the red card sense, that's pretty shoddy work! It should have been "loaned out to Hibernian" or somesuch. I'm assuming this error is in the original piece, not just the transcript.

Whpo would everyone put at right back if cyrus doesn't play?
Clarke was sadly woeful on saturday, and looked out of depth.
Willis looked okay, still early, although I highly rate him for the youth team.
Or drop keogh back? But lose some of his defencive attributes?

I'd keep Jordan, he'll only get fitness through games. Whilst he was miles off the pace Saturday, his throw led to a goal & he nearly scored first half.
