During Delieu's interview he clearly stated there WERE funds to bring in one or two targets they had been working on.

This implies there is backing from SISU that we inevitably need new players be it just one or two.

LeFondre remains a target of course and the player has told his club according to reports he wants away. I think 400k plus a player deal will get it done with a nice sell on clause put in the deal as a sweetener.

The clock ticks as with everything we hear about CCFC...........

Transfer Embargo for the Sky Blues?

By Frankie 1987 on Aug 23, 11 11:56 AM in Fans

A very strong rumour persists that the Transfer Embargo that hit The Sky Blues last season has still not been lifted.
Under League rules we were allowed to sign a Goalkeeper because our two senior keepers had come to the end of their contracts and left the Club.
Joe Murphy was a free agent, so he wasn't subject to transfer rules, neither was the young prospect from Northampton Town.
Sources close to the Club have told me that SISU have still not paid money owed to Bolton for our very brief loan signing, and that is the reason why we haven't signed one outfield player, not even on a free transfer or loan.
Until that money is paid we will not be allowed to sign anyone, and although SISU's Bank have agreed to fund the wages and rent, this is only until a sale can be agreed, with the Bank setting a time limit of the end of the season.
Had the Bank not agreed to this, the Club would have gone into administration and the Bank would have lost everything.
It has been well documented that the money "pumped into the club" by SISU, is just a loan, a loan that would be paid back to SISU when promotion to the Premier League was realised.
Unfortunately for SISU their profits have taken a dramatic downturn since their takeover of the club, and so any further investment in the team has not been possible.

Paxman -in the same interview he also said we hadn't brought anyone in because of finance, that we were trying to bring some players in, that we were looking at a couple, that we would try but finances were a stumbling block and he couldn't promise anything. In his usual bullshit style he made a statement and them backtracked on it as the interview went on.

You do realise the really really anti SISU brigade are going to hunt you down and physically hurt you now you've said don't you?

If I was thinking logically, I'd like to think there's a good chance that once Premiership sides have named their 25, we'll try and exploit the Loan window. However, our summers dealings have merely been just two goalkeepers which obviously makes one lean towards the "not sure they ARE going to do that" trail of thinking.

As for Le Fondre, I fear that for a player with a goalscoring record such as his, other clubs in a better position than us financially and footballing wise would come in for in and he'd choose them over us. Why wouldn't he?

I'd love to see Le Fondre though. In my opinion, from what I have seen of him, he looks exactly the kind of partner Jutkiewicz needs. Jutkiewicz's finishing is poor. His hold up play and strength and workrate have improved tenfold over the last 10 months, this is why Marlon King thrived alongside him.

I would still like to see a couple more attacking midfielders added to the squad on top of Le Fondre (ooo-errrr). Josh McEachran, the young Chelsea midfielder is highly rated and looks to be not making the cut for the Chelsea 25. Its also been mentioned that no one has actually made a loan bid for him yet. Worth a peek?

I also remember hearing James McFadden's name banded about a few weeks back. Wages would obviously be a stumbling block and if anyone knows any different, he is still a free agent isn't he? However, I'd much rather see play behind the front 2 than Bell or McSheffrey, who have been poor in that role so far this season.

So this will be our team in 3 weeks......
Westwood (on loan from Sunderland)
Keogh - Cranie - Turner - Hussey
Clingan
Bigirimana - McEachran
McFadden
Le Fondre - Jutkiewicz

If only real life was more like Football Manager.

like they say rumour with some glaring bits of misinformation. Perhaps the embargo is there but it has been denied by the board. The rest is just bits of misunderstood stuff coddled together to make it sound right

sorry but Frankie 1987 doesnt have much of a clue

When Dulieu talks about player budgets he's only referring to a weekly wage budget - there are no funds available because that would involve further investment, something that SISU are unwilling to do at the moment.

As things stand, the only way we can sign anybody is on a 'free' or as a 'loan'.
