In a way losing could be a good thing (1 Viewer)

At least players from the sounds of it displayed how they have been performing all season and did not pick up to pull the wool over Mark Robin's eyes! This in the long term could be a good thing.

Mark Robins is a tough bugger and I am sure he will cut the deadwood or give them a damn good kick up the arse.

I am disappointed with the amount of posts quitting some even talking about changing club! I am not a season ticket order but have supported Cov for over 20 years - normally get to about 10 games home and away a season. I get loads of stick constantly over my choice of team I cannot even logically explain it, but they are my team, I will follow them as long a the club is in existence.

I cannot understand

a. People quitting or switching club ......and
b. Even worse deciding to put it on a Forum......if you are going......bugger off without announcing it on the forum, there is enough negativity around the bloody club at the moment, if you care about the club in any way,,,,,slip away quietly.

I am going to Arsenal on Tuesday but this is mainly due to locality,,,,I also went to Dagenham in round 1 and that was a cracker! I hope we at least perform to best of our ability on the night but think regardless we just need to really, reallt get behind the team....even if they do not deserve it we will enjoy the game more.....rather than sitting in silence shaking our heads.

I think things will turn around.....just hope it is not too late,,,,,we still have 39 games to go though so it is not irretrievable at this point.

Good attempt! I'll buy it, especially given the alternatives.
I do want to see some actions from Robins over the coming days to make a few points to the players. Would love to see a few shipped out on loan and McDonald in for an extended run... he deserves it!

Hi CUS Wyken yes just so pissed off about people who talk about switiching the club.....I was very disappointed with performance at Dagenham game TBH but hey at least we won!

Were you at the game today - did the team show any sign of raising their performance levels or was it same old performance.....to me they just seem to have no urgency or injection of pace.....seem to play at walking pace at times!

As always they showed glimpses of what they can all do but they were few and far between and for the most part they looked tired, dejected and just not good enought to win. A loss was probably harsh as Carlisle werent that much better but it just seems every other team out there can scrape a win other than us

When I first started supporting the club think there was a hard-core of prob around 8K......it is probably moving back to that point ....it is just unfortunate the sizeof our ground does not reflect it.

I personally would like to see McGoldrick and Sheff up front or Mc Goldrick and McDonald.....the sad thing is Sheff does not really seem to deserve it......would anyone else like to see a Sheff/McGoldrick combination or am I just giving Sheff too many chances?

I guess it leaves no illusions to Mark Robins of the work that needs to be done, rather than putting in the extra effort for the new boss which temporarily papers overs the cracks. Having said that I would still have preferred us to win

I would give Sheff a chance up front with McGoldrick but it would have to be his last chance. I was one of the fans who welcomed him back with open arms thinking he would return to his pre brum form but he has been so disappointing i have lost confidence in his ability to do anything. He has no pace, trickery or pin point accuracy crosses so why people put him on the wing is beyond me. Maybe just maybe he could win the fans back with scoring some goals up top but the chances of that are slim

I created a thread today where I asked thisnexact question.

"Do you think McSheffrey will ask to be put up front?"

A good few people agreed that it would be interesting to see him back in his old position. I think a McSheffrey/McGoldrick partnership would be nice to see. McGoldrick is a fantastic signing and has shown his class is higher than those he plays with. Its why I also suggested he should be made Captain. I also wouldn't mind seeing a 4-3-3 formation with McDonald/McGoldrick/McSheffrey up front.

But I believe this week will be crucial in our clubs history. This week I believe we'll see more players being told their time is up at the club and I think Robin's will bring in maybe three or more loan signings to replace and bolster those positions that need it. I'm looking for a GK, ST, LB and another winger if possible.

Do we need another ST though? I would say that is one of our strengths (i know it doesnt seem so at the moment) our problem is supply so wingers are a must!

In another thread it looks like Robin's is bringing another strikes in from Barnsley. Young lad called noble. He has a double barrelled name but I can't remember all of it. I think we do need another striker as I can see ROD and a few others making an exit soon. And Cody needs someone to push him. McGoldrick is a definite starter now so it's about finding his partner etc. Cody could be that partner but he needs someone who can push him. Get another talented striker in and he might just buck his ideas up!

If we get in a striker who really makes a difference then cool but he needs to be someone who can collect the ball at the half way line and run through an entire team before thumping it into the net if we dont get the wingers in to help the team. Also i think 1 (of the many) reasons we are struggling is the amount of new faces and lack of playing time they have together so bring in more is just going to worsen that (unless as i hinted to above they are awesome :p)

I feel like he's got the job of his life now. In terms of challenge, not opportunity.

I don't care if he fills the team with loans if they are better than our lot.

I was sat with a guy last night who knows one of our youngsters. When he broke into the first team the senior pros, instead if being supportive, were out right hostile to him. They bullied him and told him he didn't belong in the first team and wasn't good enough.

Scrap the lot Robbins. Keep some of the new faces from the summer, as they wouldnt have been there for it, and scrap the rest.

Sometimes tho, bad events like losing, can make you stronger. Ok with city so far it hasn't. But if it strengthens your resolve and focus it can lead to more.
