Cool, masked goons and violent assholes that look and act like they were recruited at random and given no training in how to handle situations like this are scooping people off the street. You love to see it!

I’m curious to know how the supporters of mass deportation programs in this country would expect our own scheme to look much different.

Some of the things your read about, or see videos off on social media, involving ICE are truly terrifying yet seem to get cheered on by some people.

As you say its not unreasonable to expect someone representing a government agency such as this to turn up in a uniform, unmasked, with ID.

But what we're seeing is masked goons, in some cases with nothing to identify them as ICE, literally rounding people up based on the colour of their skin.
The Trump administration has been using four criteria to see who ICE agents can stop for immigration inquiries, according to court documents. They are: (1) apparent race or ethnicity; (2) speaking Spanish or English with an accent; (3) presence at a particular location such as a carwash or day laborer pickup site; and (4) the type of work the person does.
Then once they have taken people zero information is given about what has happened to them. There are families who report that weeks later they don't even know if the person taken is still in the country.

Its amazing that in a country with so many guns nobody has shot an ICE agent while being taken. After all when you're got someone in plain clothes jumping out of an unidentified vehicle grabbing people off the street surely it wouldn't' be hard to claim self defence?

Yes, isn’t the whole point of the second amendment to protect the public from government tyranny?

I do wonder is this what we’ll become if Reform get in?
Wouldn’t surprise me if this is what starmer thinks he can do to keep them out when it’s completely the wrong approach
Reform are the best at whipping up anti democratic authoritarian policies Labour should be better than that

and I think it’s likely to be worse unless you are rich and have property especially if you are unwell

They wouldn't, and unfortunately I'd imagine that's part of the appeal for quite a lot.
I personally think there’s a gap between those who ostensibly support mass deportations, and those who fully appreciate the reality of how you achieve that.

Cards on the radio doesn't sound exciting, but I've listened to boxing and darts which are both pretty good, so I'll give it a go :)

Nothing comes close to chess on the radio tbf
