But which of the approximate 3000 gods created the world? Surely it was only 1? Or all? Or none? How are there so many all-knowing creators? Did they all create the world for their own followers? They all just happened to create the same world and put all their different followers in different locations? What if a King (Henry 8th) created a religion and not a God? Does that religion still have a god? Or did god condemn any followers of the king to hell? Where is hell? Because if that's to be believed, heaven is an outer space, other worldly place. Whereas hell is the fires within the earth's crust. If that's true, then we're all much closer to hell than we are heaven?

With the Kings, at the time there were considered to be anointed by God and so therefore God spoke through them and what they wanted was what God wanted. It's never explained why there a re different Kings in differently places or why God tells them all different things. Of course for Henry it was literally just to get a divorce and swag a load of riches from the Church. And if no rich man can enter the Kingdom of God, why are Kings rich?

As others have said, the Bible is full of some mad shit, and some very unsavoury elements to that clearly show that women are barely considered human. They're property of men. That's what marriage traditionally is - transfer of ownership of the women from the father to the husband.

To be fair there are some elements I think might be explainable but details have been missed out, like walking on water. I can even see how people could be said to live to over 800 years old. But there's so much that is just crazy.

I don't believe in a God/Gods because I have respect for the idea of an omniscient creator(s), and I can't believe if you're all knowing THIS is the ideal. Why create all these things and then make most of them have to eat each other to survive?

Regarding Abrahamic religions, pretty much the first rule is thou shalt have no other God but me, but if you can literally control everything, why let people even be able to comprehend other Gods? Why not just prove your existence and stop any argument? And if you kill almost everyone for straying from that that just makes you seem insecure and psychopathic.

And if you're creating EVERYTHING, why would the last thing you create be the thing that looked like you? Surely, you start with what you know and then get creative. If I was asked to design a car or a house, I'd start with what I know a car and a house look like. But no, apparently He can come up with a giraffe and a duck billed platypus before something that looks like Him.

My previous signature was "and on the sixth day, man created God in his image." That's the only explanation. Everything is about human beings who want power and using people's greatest fear (death) to control them by saying they'll be rewarded once they're dead if they do what those people say, or will be punished in death if they don't.

Of course it stills leaves you wondering where all of this comes from. I'm now at a point where, on the very, very tiny chance there were some sort of 'creator', we would in fact be a science experiment and 'Gods' put some elements in a petri dish we call the universe and is just seeing what happens. You can pray all you like - no-one's going to help. And also opens the possibility of endless 'alternate universes' where the same experiment in being run. But then that doesn't explain what created the scientist Gods?

But according to the Law of the Conservation of Energy energy just changes from one form to another, it can't be made or destroyed. So then that energy must have always been there. While it may have come from 'nothing' in a sense that we can't perceive it, if energy can't be 'made' it still must have been 'something' to be there in the first place. That's why I think 'dark' matter and energy are interesting.

There's so many theories about the origin and end of the universe. Will black holes eventually get so massive that they'll slow and eventually reverse the expansion of the universe into a big crunch? Or will it expand forever until everything reaches absolute zero and 'freezes'. Will it continue to accelerate in expansion as it has done and rip itself apart? Or perhaps it's cyclical, and this isn't the first 'universe'? You eventually get a big crunch until everything reaches the singularity, there's no more space to push into, and it explodes again in another Big Bang?

Trouble with every single one is they don't explain where that energy comes from in the first place.

I think the racists have always been there unfortunately, but now they feel they have been given the opportunity to now speak their minds freely all of sudden. They feel they now have a voice. An acceptable voice.

Not blaming the flags here, but there is a us and them mentality that has really now come to the fore.

There are people stirring it up. There are bots stirring it up. There are agitators and then there's your Tommy Robinson's and Katie Hopkins' and Laurence Fox's.

I am hearing it from a few of my friends, who are not white.

There has been quite a bit of "get out of my country" jibes thrown at people who have lived here for decades, or that have been born here and lived all their lives here.

It's very saddening to see.

A friend of my missus had a car deliberately driven at her, to scare her. Didn't think they had any intention of actually hitting her, but it was a warning. Drove really fast then slammed the brakes on and shouted some racial abuse.

As I mentioned before, my friend who lives in London and who has been here for 18 years, has suddenly now, for the first ever time, been getting verbal abuse and looks of disgust on the buses she has to get to work and back.

I do think a lot of racists now feel enabled and entitled.

Farage loves to stir it all up too.

Very sad.

Great post and sadly I think you're spot on. We thought the battle against racism was largely won in this country but now its very clear they had just learnt to keep it to themselves as it wasn't socially acceptable. That's now changed.

I have a friend who lives in London, as they have done for years without issue, who is now in a whatsapp group with friends who are also immigrants so they can inform each other where they are going on a night out and that they have returned safely such is the fear of something terrible now happening.

Lots of it going on and it's not nice, but the one quoted here (Mukhtar) I've seen before and isnt just about exposing racists, that account is also race baiting. Extremists have always been there and the guy in the video is a prick, but other more moderates are also fed up with apologists, who are generally white, insisting it's all one way. Open racism occurs on many sides of many divides.

It says nothing of the sort and this isn't an area for your usual wumming. I think we can all be pretty sensitive to race debates which happen in so many topics on here, but you've put something in quotes that isn't a quote. If people who have been marginalised think there is a problem then there is 100% a problem. I think what lots of people don't like is middle aged white guys who are in the opposite camp to Gary's flag shaggers, running around shouting 'racist' at every opportunity.

The guy in the video is a c**t, most normal minded folk would agree with that, but I'm pretty sure it's not the norm.
