Can someone please stop the confusion and explain in laymans terms how or when I will,or will not be able to purchase tickets for Fridays game.

I've got 5 new generation of sky blue kids wanting to go to there first game in a party of 9. Feel this could be an oppurtunity missed if we have an empty stand.

It was a night game I first ever went too as an excited 7 year old and walking up the steps of the west stand to be greeted by a huge green field, floodlights as high as I've ever seen and the chanting below me in the west terrace that made me think, this is where I want to spend my days. Was a spine tingling moment and be a shame if the new generation can't get this buzz just like me all those years ago.

there will certainly be tickets on the day - Season tickets not renewed by friday will be made available for purchase on friday (up to 4000)

there may also be other tickets in the old Jewson if police allow

I'm sure more tickets will be on sale shortly. It makes very little sense at all to not sell as many as 'Safely' possible. This is SISU though and if you throw ACL into the mix as well, nothing runs smoothly !

Seems a bit crazy as this is an oppurtunity to get the whole of the city back onboard. The 5 kids are not bothered or old enough to understand the politics behind the whole mess, they just want to go to there first football game.

It will be fine. Everyone who wants tickets will get tickets and it won't sell out. Relax.

OK, I confess, I'm utterly baffled.

We've got a 32,000 seater stadium. We've sold 15,000 tickets on general sale, and are reserving 4,000 others for ST holders. We'll have to block out (say) 2,000 for away fans. That's 21,000. Let's say another 1,000 are lost for segregation and other misc issues. We're up to 22,000 now.

Where have the other 10,000 tickets gone?

(Edit: With apologies if this question has been posted elsewhere, I've been away for a few days.)

I'm just amazed that everyone who wants to go to this game might not be able to - imho this is potentially a massive own goal. Do the club/ACL want the money that extra fans bring in, or not?

2,000 season ticket holders as well, no idea what has happened to the rest of the tickets.

benno - worse case - there is a game the following saturday - there will be tickets available for that

Yes, I'll be at that too but as a kid, if you're going into a full house under the floodlights it's more of an experience. Just saying, that's where my love of the city began.

Its still confusing me how they are saying the North Stand is sold out. I was on the ticket purchase site all day on Saturday and never saw any blocks of four seats together at any point in this stand, yet they are saying all these have been now taken. Strange.

I really hope I do get tickets or I will have a right little strop.

They have halted sales on the following blocks, 29, 30, 31, 11, 10. They're not sold out, in fact I've not heard of anyone having a ticket here. The reason for the suspension could be:

1, To give the ticket office a breathing space to deal with posting and ST renewals.
2, A security Issue with stewarding, police costs
3, Conjecture again, but maybe a crowd of over 20,000 triggers a further payment to ACL under the secret new agreement.

Personally, I'd go for option 1.

I have a PSL and 3 ST in block 11 which I had to transfer from block 29, my tak on it is they are holding 29/30 until they know if 10 and 11 can be sold. If 10 and 11 can be sold then they we also release 29 and 30. If 10 and 11 can't be sold the people who have tickets for 10 and 11 have to be moved first before they can be put on sale.

The problem seems to be block 10 11, the police/safety PC brigade think we are way too close to the away fans (although in Prem and champ games they are happy to have a few rows of seats between fans).

I don't believe there is any rule for the number of tickets given to away fans therefore I would used block 9 as no man's land and champ give the away fans therefore 8-5, there is segregation below the stand at block 9 so what's the problem???????

I can remember my first sight of the pitch at Highfield Road. Lights on and the pitch cut in perfect circles. Tommy Hutch and Colin Stein.
It's true when they say there's only one chance at making a first impression - and Boy! that impression is still as vivid now as it was then.

Block 29 was opened up on Saturday, I got tickets there in my old season ticket seats row BB, they released these at about 11am just as I got to the front.

The wait to renew season tickets was taking ages with only 1 person dealing with these so think it will be better to wait to renew season tickets when the dust settles.

Think it would have been more sensible to have Weds as the cut off point for the 4000 season ticket seats, rather than Thursday night. More chance for people to sort a ticket out if Thursday's an option too. You wouldn't want to be scraping around for a ticket on matchday.

Just waiting for a gate of 22,000 due to "policing reasons" and Fishers smug face saying I told you all so, we only need a 18-22k stadium.

Release the lot ffs and lets sell them all!

I hope everyone is returning the following week though!!!

I think this makes sense, hopefully they open the remainder of the ground within the next day. It will be a right cock up if the home section isn't sold out everywhere.

If it was me I'd give Gillingham one block and open up the rest to us.
