If We Get Relagated Would You Renew Your Season Ticket? (1 Viewer)

Was having a chat yesterday with mate who has had season ticket for 15 years and I have had one for 30 years and we both said that if we were to be relegated and that nothing was changing in the way the club was being run ie: no investment in team and a likely stagnation in the third division we would not be renewing our tickets. We would wait and if things started off well and we were challenging at the top then we would reconsider or just go to selected games but as painful and hard a decision as it would be we would not be automatically renewing.

How do others feel?

I'd seriously have to think about it. If SISU were still acting the way they were then you would be merely helping them to cut their losses. If we had a new board or things had changed then it could be seen as a clean slate and I would renew.

Not sure. I might not have a job by then, which would make my decision for me. But it's not relegation that will really make me consider it: it's our ownership. If we are still being mis-managed by SISU next season, it's most unlikely that I'll renew. I think a few thousand feel the same way.

I'm already regretting getting this years but not just because of results, it's just getting boring. Crowds now down to 12k, never an atmosphere, rarely entertained. If we went down I'd save my season ticket outlay for away games. Go to all the league one grounds we've never been to. Still go to the occasional home game though.

I'm thinking of taking the step into buying an ST instead of working there in the next season or two and whilst SISU are in charge I will not be purchasing a ticket. Relegation or not.

I'm not too sure at the moment to be perfectly honest. I got my 1st season ticket in 6 years this season. I used to go to approx 10 games a season anyway so thought "fook it I might as well this year". However, the last couple of weeks I have been starting to feel like I cant really be doing with it myself. Not because of the way SISU are running the club, not because we cant seem to get a win (other than the one fooking match I missed for a wedding!!!!!) but because of, and I say this with a massive amount of dread for the backlash I am going to get, THE SISU OUT BRIGADE.

Before you all hammer me can you just read my point of view from all this..........

Do I agree with the way the club is run? NO
Do I want new owners? FUCK YEAH!!!
Are SISU a bunch of clowns who are about as much use as a chocolate teapot?? OF COURSE GIVEN THE LAST FEW YEARS I HAVE TO AGREE!!

Now, looking JUST at the 3 points I have put above, I probably should (am deep down am) of the same mindset of the rest of the supporters who go to the games and sing "Time to go SISU", e.t.c However, I do believe that there is a time and a place for all of this. And quite frankly I think they are not doing it at the right times.

Lets take the Reading game for instance, 2 minutes in, McSheffery scores an absolute belter! The crowd are in high spirits for once and we seems to look good as a team, sing positive songs & really get behind the lads. "Jesus, start the song!" comes from the naughty corner (hahaha - what a name!) and he thinks singing "Time to Go SISU" is an appropriate song to start singing at this point. The atmosphere within the ground turns to fucking poison! Next thing you know Church pops up on 10 mins and they've equalised! Am I the ONLY person who thinks this is more than coincidence??

Now I am not saying for a moment that you shouldn't sing these songs... they after all deserve everything they get!! However, I think a bit of judgement needs to be taken when the lads are on the pitch, ESPECIALLY when we are 1 - 0 up!! Protest outside the ground, before kickoff.... slaughter the muppets! Half time, instead of having a beer or whatever, sing your hearts out then at full time carry on again. Whatever you feel is necessary to get rid of them do it. But for the sake of the lads on the pitch and the sake of us having any chance of staying in this league, get behind them when the game is being played!

Nah, completely disagree. The atmosphere cranks up and the players perform better when we shout SISU OUT. The players don't love our owners, they don't lose any sleep over us dissing them.

I don't think it's a coincidence I think it relates more to the fact that we can't hold a lead.

As has been the case for a number of years. Hence our lack of a top half finish for a number of years.

Having watched from the old Fourth Division through to the Prem and back out again I would find it very difficult th break the habit of a life time in supporting CCfC.

At times I must admit to thinking the unthinkable in not going to see all games but having thought long and hard after being a season ticket holder for 47 years I just have to make the effort and support the team whatever form they are in.

These negative thoughts only apply to the last two/three seasons and cannot compare to one of the best periods for watching CCFC was when we had that fabulous squad which inckuded King Dion, the Hucks, Noel Whelan, Gary McAllister, Hadji etc where it seemed intolerable to have to wait two weeks to see the maestros play again

So it's the possibility that eventually we will recaim those golden years in the near future that keeps me going and therefor YES I will renew my ST whatever fate awaits us.

Too True mate its why me and the boy go to every home and about half the away, we follow our team,rather than follow the shopping crowds, whatever goes on in the back rooms cannot be influenced by the fans unless we do it on mass which odes not look likely anytime soon..

So rain shine or snow, sharp frost (god it was cold at the Norwich game last year) we will be there.

Undecided for me yet - it depends on my dad. He's been going even longer than my 30 years of suffering but he's had enough. If I don't go it wont be because we're in League 1 but a financial decision as it will mean twice as much petrol and parking in adition to the ticket not to mention that I won't be sat next my dad which is sort of what I've always done. Hopefully he'll change his mind between now and then.
